Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Vegas baby! If you're looking for bright lights, spectacular shows and yes, gambling, there's no better place to visit than Sin City. And if you're coming from New York or nearby, American Airlines is currently offering an incredible price on round-trip flights with fares from Newark (EWR) to Las Vegas (LAS) starting as low as $113.

Availability is somewhat limited, but we found multiple itinerary options between January and March, with a scattering of additional dates from April through early June. This fare can be booked as separate one-way flights, and there are more open dates from New York to Las Vegas than the other way around. Your best bet may be to use Google Flights to search one way dates, then book separate tickets if necessary on Orbitz, Expedia or directly with American itself. Since you can book these one-way in each direction, there's no minimum stay requirement — meaning more time to spend at the blackjack table.

Airline: American Airlines
Routes: EWR to LAS
Cost: $113+ round-trip in economy
Dates: January - June 2018
Booking Link: Orbitz, Expedia or American
Pay With: The Platinum Card from American Express (5x on airfare), Chase Sapphire Reserve, Citi Prestige (3x on airfare) or Chase Sapphire Preferred (2x on travel)

How we chose these cards
