Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

It’s rare to find discounted fares to India, but today we’re seeing some great deals with prices starting from just $541 round-trip. You can fly from all over the US to Mumbai (BOM) and New Delhi (DEL) from March through June 2017.

Flights are operated by Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic, and you’ll have to make a stop in London (LHR) each way. You can earn Delta SkyMiles on both carriers and this route could make a serious dent in your MQM requirement if you’re trying to achieve status with Delta. You’ll want to use Google Flights to find your desired cities and dates, and then use Expedia to complete your booking, since many of the itineraries require you to call Virgin or Jet to book.
