TPG’s Hiring: See Our Open Jobs & Summer Internships
Before I started The Points Guy, I was in recruiting at a major investment bank. So, I guess you could say that recruitment is in my blood. It was actually that job that allowed me to travel a ton to college campuses across North America and rake in tons of miles and points, eventually starting TPG while I was still working there.
Since then, I never would have dreamed that TPG would turn into what it is. We now get more than 3.3 million monthly unique visitors a month and have an ever-growing team. With that, we also have a new 8,000 square foot office opening in New York this spring. And since we have a brand new sparkling home, we might as well fill it.
We're looking to fill five full-time jobs, and we're also excited to launch our summer points protégé program, our internship program where you can get experience in either editorial, events or social media. Not only do we offer a cool working environment with free food, but we also offer our interns $20 an hour. And if the last couple of summer-intern programs offer any clues to what might be in store, our interns have traveled everywhere from Hawaii to Senegal to Serbia. Not making any promises, but this summer is going to be fun.
Want to hear more? Tune in at 5:30pm ET today when I will be hosting a Facebook Live session talking through the full-time positions and internship program. If any of these New York-based positions interest you, be sure to tune in. Or if you think someone would be interested, send them to thepointsguy.com/jobs so they can apply online. We'll be starting interviews in the near future.
For internships: Apply using the link below, plus links to your social media accounts and any published work you may have. Summer internships start in late May.
Full-Time Jobs
Editorial: Senior Editor
We’re looking for an experienced editor to assign and edit news, columns and feature articles covering credit cards, airlines, hotels, loyalty programs, and personal finance trends — as well as lifestyle topics (health, product reviews, interviews). The position reports directly to editor-in-chief Zach Honig. Minimum requirements: 3-5+ years experience as a full-time writer or editor.
Business: Associate Account Manager
We need an Associate Account Manager to help manage relationships with our bank and affiliate partners. You will be responsible for increasing revenue and serving as an internal advocate across our business, editorial and operations teams. This individual will also maintain and present KPI reporting, working towards agreed growth targets and should have exceptional presentation and negotiating skills. Advanced degree in business, finance or marketing desirable but not required.
Social Media: Video Producer / Editor
We’re looking for a self-motivated shooter/editor experienced in creating snackable, shareable videos optimized for social amplification, primarily, but also adept in creating longer-form content as needed. This person reports to the VP of Social Media and Video, and works closely with social and editorial teams to support and create ongoing franchises, as well as one-off, stand-alone videos. You should feel comfortable owning a project from start to finish, including concepting, writing, producing, shooting and editing. Light motion graphics skills and 3+ years experience shooting, producing and editing video for digital platforms is required.
Social Media: Growth Strategist and Analyst
We need someone experienced in analytics and digital growth strategy to help us grow a new audience, increase engagement, collect data and develop compelling recommendations with a cross-functional team. In addition, this individual will offer customer insights, aggregate and analyze data around content performance from social channels, and create regular reporting. Required: 3-4+ combined years of experience in analytics and digital growth strategy.
Social Media: Editor
The job crosses several departments — edit, marketing and social media. The goal: To optimize promotion (and re-promotion) of content on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram, including imagery, social headlines, post copy and scheduling. This role works closely with the VP of Social Media and Video to brainstorm, package and execute on larger creative campaigns, including events and product launches.
Internships
Editorial: 2 Writers, Lifestyle Content / Points & Miles Content
Editorial interns will monitor news, research travel-related topics and write daily news posts for the site — quick turnaround time often required. The intern also helps produce posts in Wordpress (knowledge of Photoshop is appreciated) and works alongside the social media team to review and respond to reader comments. Requirements: ability to work from our NYC office, experience working on a college news website or other editorial team, and ability to work 40 hours a week in a fast-paced environment.
Marketing: Events & Partnerships
The marketing intern will assist in the development and implementation of all TPG events, branded partnerships, press strategy, TPG personal appearances and non-profit initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the role also reports into the Director of Marketing and Compliance and will assist with daily activities as required by the department. Time commitment: minimum 15 (up to 40) hours per week with flexible hours from our NYC office.
Social Media: Pinterest Intern
For this internship, the primary focus will be rebooting our Pinterest account: performing competitive audits, gathering industry best practices, suggesting creative direction, compiling existing assets, assigning KPIs and relevant analytics tracking, and developing overall strategy. You must work from our NYC office.
