Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
If you haven’t already planned your trip to Cuba now that it’s easier than ever to get there, now might be the best time yet — JetBlue is offering round-trip economy fares to Havana (HAV) from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) starting from just $134. Availability at these prices seems to begin at the tail-end of November, lasting through February 2017. Be warned though, as many users are reporting (including us) problems with JetBlue’s Best Fare Finder website. If you can get it to work for you though, you’ll soon be on your way to the gorgeous, once-forbidden land.
