In the past, Starwood Preferred Guest and Major League Baseball have come together to offer SPG members the chance to redeem Starpoints for MLB events like the World Series. Now, SPG and MLB are continuing that partnership with a new game called "Get in the Game with SPG," where you can win prizes including Starpoints, MLB.TV Premium subscriptions, Amazon gift cards and even a pair of tickets to Game 1 of the 2016 World Series.

From today through March 18 at 11:59pm ET, SPG members can enter daily by going to the contest's homepage and choosing your favorite MLB team and the team you'll be playing against. Select the pitch that you, the batter, will try to hit (knuckleball, fastball, curveball or changeup) and the watch as the game automatically swings for you. You'll get three swings per game — unless you win an instant prize, in which case you'll be informed of your winnings and the game will end. Unfortunately, no one on the TPG staff has yet to win anything.

There are 1,360 Instant Win Game prizes, with the most common being $50 Amazon gift cards. Here's how they break down:

Winning PlayQuantityInstant Win PrizeARV
Single Hit4251,000 Starpoints$25
Double Hit(Non US) 2555,000 Starpoints$125
Double Hit(US Only) 510Amazon Gift Card$50
Triple Hit8510,000 Starpoints$250
Triple Hit(US Only) 51MLB.TV Premium Subscription$109.99
Home Run3420,000 Starpoints$500

Play the game once a day for a chance to win an instant prize — with each play, you'll also be automatically entered into the random drawing for a Grand Prize: Two tickets to Game 1 of the 2016 MLB World Series valued at $1,000. If you win Starpoints, they'll hit your account within three weeks of March 18. Gift cards will be mailed within three weeks of the same date while MLB.TV subscriptions must be redeemed by April 30.

You'll pick your teams and pitch to determine if you win.

Overall, the game takes no more than four minutes to complete — from signing into your account and selecting your teams to choosing the pitches for your batter to hit. It's an easy (and fun) way to win some pretty cool prizes from SPG, including ever-valuable Starpoints. You can find the full terms and conditions here.

You can also earn more Starpoints by getting the highest-ever welcome bonus with the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express and the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express. Both cards are offering 35,000 Starpoints after you spend $3,000 in purchases in the first three months (personal) or $5,000 in purchases in the same period (business). This is a great time to apply for the card if you don't already have it to take advantage of those points before the upcoming Starwood-Marriott merger.

You'll also snag additional Starpoints for referring a friend to the cards — 5,000 for each friend up to 55,000 for each card. Translation: You could essentially walk away from applying for one of the cards and referring 11 people with a whopping 90,000 Starpoints! Here's the link to refer someone to the SPG Personal Amex, as well as the link to refer someone to the SPG Business Amex — your friend will need to apply by March 30, 2016, in order to be eligible for this promotion and if they're approved, you should receive your bonus 6-8 weeks later.
