Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel. Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers.
Travelers originating in Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK) can snag super-affordable flights to Brazil this spring. American Airlines and its Oneworld-partner TAM Airlines are offering economy fares from $439 round-trip to Sao Paulo (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) between February and June — not quite early enough for a cheap flight to the Summer Olympics in Rio, but still nice for a springtime getaway. Keep in mind that the Brazilian government will waive the visa requirement for Americans starting in June, but if you're traveling before then, you'll still need a tourist visa to enter the country. We recommend using Allied Passport & Visa to get yours — mention The Points Guy on your order form to get a special $5 discount just for TPG readers.
