Put on your eatin’ pants and head to the Big Apple, because American Express has a new Membership Experience offer — the See Your City: Eats Edition.

Here’s the deal: Register your eligible Amex card between now and September 30, then spend $50 at one of the See Your City participating restaurants in New York City’s five boroughs and get $10 back.

You can read the full offer for all the details, but here are the major caveats:

  • You may enroll more than one Card for this offer, but only those Cards you enroll individually will be eligible for the offer.
  • If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided to you until after September 30, 2015, it will not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer.
  • You may not receive the statement credit for purchases made at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g., a restaurant inside a hotel, casino or event venue).
  • In most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it.

Taking a look at the map, I’d be hard-pressed to spend more than $50 at many of the participating restaurants, the majority of which are low-end establishments like delis, pizza joints and coffee shops. But if you want to treat your friends or coworkers to lunch in any of the five boroughs on Amex cards like the Platinum Card® from American Express, its Business Platinum Card® from American Express, it could be a good deal!
