Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel.

There have been some great opportunities for West Coast travelers looking for flights to Europe over the past couple weeks. Earlier this week we found great fares as low as $369 on Norwegian Airlines to several cities in Scandinavia, followed by business-class tickets on British Airlines to Austria and Switzerland, for around $1,600 round-trip. Today, United's offering a great fare from Los Angeles (LAX) to Copenhagen (CPH) on its own metal, in addition to several Star Alliance partners. Prices range from $641 to $670 for select dates this summer.

Here's a sample of some of the flights we found:

Los Angeles (LAX)-Copenhagen (CPH) for $641 in early August on United (12,563 PQMs):
