Starwood Preferred Guest is offering a targeted bonus to existing members for up to 7,500 Starpoints. This is much like the new member bonus SPG offered earlier this year, and it has a similar structure that awards an increasing number of points with successive stays.
To take part, you must first register for the promotion by June 30, and you can then earn the following bonuses for stays between May 1 and July 31, 2015:
- 1,500 bonus Starpoints after your first eligible paid stay
- 2,500 bonus Starpoints after your second eligible paid stay
- 3,500 bonus Starpoints after your third eligible paid stay
Bookings made prior to the promotion period are eligible, but only eligible stays consumed during the promotion period will earn a bonus. An eligible stay is one that would normally earn Starpoints (so award nights and Cash & Points redemptions don’t qualify). Check out the full terms and conditions for more info.
I believe Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints to be the most valuable loyalty currency, and I’d value 7,500 points at $180. The bonus is enough for a free night in a category 1-3 property, or enough for a Cash & Points booking in a category 5 hotel (which would set you back 6,000 points and $110).
It’s not clear who was targeted for this offer, though the original email suggests it may have been directed toward members who hadn’t completed a stay for a while. Even if you didn’t receive a message, it’s worth checking to see if you can register, especially if you have upcoming plans to visit a Starwood property.
