Save with IHG Rewards Mexico Hotels Flash Sale
IHG has held award flash sales in the past, but it is offering its first ever “Mexico Flash Sale” today where IHG Rewards Club members will receive a 30% discount off the Best Flexible Rate when booking between March 13-16 for a minimum two-night stay (max is 7 nights) at participating IHG hotels in Mexico (there are over 120 of them) through June 15. The sale page is here, where you can book the special rate directly.
The key thing to note is that the discount is off the best flexible rate and not off the usually lower advanced purchase rate. In most cases, though, you’re still doing better with the sale price.
For instance a three-night stay in May at the Intercontinental Presidente in Cancun is going for $181 per night with the advanced purchase rate. The best flexible rate is about $30 more at $209.
With this sale, however, that 30% discount brings it down to about $146, and because it’s a flexible rate, you can cancel up until 6:00pm two days before check-in (this reservation was for May 12, but you could cancel up to 6:00pm local time May 10).
So if you were thinking of booking a Mexico stay (or several) this spring, it is worth checking out this sale and trying to make your booking by Monday in order to take advantage of the lower prices. You should also book as soon as possible while sale rates last and the room rates at hotels remain low in order to maximize your savings.
There does not appear to be an actual list of hotels, but IHG has said that all hotels in Mexico are participating, with the exception of these: Holiday Inn Express Veracruz, Holiday Inn Boca del Rio and Holiday Inn Centro Historico Veracruz.
