Each year, Valentine’s Day provides hotels with the perfect opportunity to create custom-themed packages that run the gamut from fun to exquisite—and even downright naughty. For couples seeking a romantic escape for the holiday, TPG Contributor Michele Herrmann presents a bouquet of hotel packages for Valentine’s Day that feature everything from specialty touches to way over-the-top perks.
“The Perfect Proposal,” The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. This package definitely takes the (wedding) cake for couples ready to take the next big step. The pre-betrothed will head to Tiffany & Co.’s showroom at The Westchester Mall for a private ring shopping experience, then spend the night in the expansive Ritz-Carlton Suite (with access to complimentary overnight parking and in-room breakfast). In addition to the “Time Together” couple’s massage at the hotel’s intimate spa, the couple will enjoy a private dinner for two at the Dream House, a 5,000 square-foot private residence on the hotel’s 40th floor that offers sexy views of New York City and the Hudson Valley. Cost: room package, $2,500, exclusive of applicable taxes; minimum spend of $20,000 for Tiffany & Co. store closure.
“Have It All Under the Desert Stars,” JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. Encouraging couples to relax and play in a desert setting, includes a gourmet picnic dinner beneath the stars and the gift of a Coronado Solar MaxII 60 Double Stack Telescope for the best sightings. A private stargazing Jeep safari tour will explore an 800-acre private preserve on the San Andreas Fault, and couples will feast on a Californian-inspired chef’s tasting menu on the hotel’s boat dock before sailing off on a private gondola ride accompanied by dessert and Dom Perignon. Other perks include post-sun wraps and a body treatment in a private spa sanctuary. Packages start at $10,050 for two and $15,200 for four.
“Drunk In Love,” Hotel Palomar Philadelphia. To celebrate Valentine’s Day with a risqué twist, couples can enjoy a little alone time in one of the hotel’s King Spa rooms. Blush-worthy amenities include an intimacy kit of playful goodies from the Velvet Lily and a one-on-one boudoir shoot with professional photographer Natasha Esguerra. For truly staying behind closed doors, there’ll be an in-room aphrodisiac dining menu with a specialty cocktail designed to please by the hotel’s restaurant, Square 1682. Package is at $1,099 per night plus tax. Booking window is now through 2/21; must book 8 days in advance. For stays January 30 through March 1, 2015. Rate code: SEXY
