Finding Airfares Using the ITA Matrix

One of the most useful tools for searching airfares quickly is the this post for tips on how to use it.

For a quick sampling, I searched airfares from New York (JFK) to Iguassu Falls, Brazil (IGU) and was able to find these fares for 4-7 night stays starting at $474 in January.

Once you find your desired flights, you can then head over to Expedia, where you can book your flights, since you're not able to book flights through the ita Matrix.

You can maximize your mileage earning on these purchases by earning 3x points with the American Express Premier Rewards Gold or 2x points on the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Check out this post for more on maximizing airfare purchases.

As a reminder, you'll need a Visa if you want to head down to Brazil, so for help with Visas we recommend our friends at Allied Passport & Visa.

I didn’t have time to search every possible city pairing to Igassu Falls, Brazil, but if you have found other low fares, please share your findings and information in the comments below! Again, there’s no guarantee how long these cheap fares will last so I’d try to book ASAP if you want to get in on these.
