Just under the wire for Christmas, you may now be able to get $10 off a purchase of at least $10 on Amazon.com when you link a credit card from a participating loyalty program—including Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards and ThankYou Rewards—and use a minimum of 1 point and the promo code SWP10HOL for the purchase. This targeted offer may or may not work with your Amazon.com account, but if it does, it will be valid through January 12, 2015.
To qualify for the offer, the item(s) you purchase on Amazon.com must be both sold and shipped by Amazon.com; that is, they can’t be items sold and shipped by a third party. However, the website’s gift cards for third-party merchants (e.g., Nordstrom’s, Starbucks, AMC Theatres, etc.) are eligible and make good last-minute holiday presents, so be sure to see the complete list of gift cards sold on Amazon.
To see if you’re targeted for this offer, you’ll first have to link an eligible, affiliated loyalty program credit card to your Amazon.com account. Hyperlinked to their respective Amazon.com promo pages, these are the credit cards/programs participating in this offer:
Once you’ve loaded your Amazon.com shopping cart with $10 or more worth of eligible items, choose your linked credit card as your form of payment. You’ll then see a box with a few choices, including “Choose a different amount,” where you should enter the number of points you want to use towards your purchase. The minimum amount required for this offer is 1 point, so type .01 to represent 1 point— and get the most bang for your spend.
On the check out page, in the box titled “Gift cards & promotional codes,” enter the promo code SWP10HOL. If you’re not targeted for this offer, you’ll receive the following message: “The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.”
If you are targeted, though, the total amount displayed on the right-hand side will reflect that $10 has been discounted from your Amazon.com purchase—like getting a gift for giving a gift. I hope this offer works for you, as a little extra cash on Christmas Eve never hurt anyone.
Happy holidays, everyone!
