SPG Select Member Exclusive Bonus (Targeted)

This week, Starwood Preferred Guest began emailing select members about a targeted promotion, inviting them to register by December 31, 2014 for the opportunity to earn bonus Starpoints or up to two free nights on points-earning stays completed between November 3, 2014 and January 31, 2015. Though I'm an SPG Platinum, I unfortunately didn't receive an offer via this promotion, but if you receive one of these email invites, it couldn't hurt to register and see what you might be offered.

According to this Flyertalk thread, eligible SPG members are receiving a wide variety of offers, including:

1 free night per 2 stays, up to 2 free nights
1,000 bonus points per stay, up to 3 stays
3,000 bonus points per stay, up to 9 stays
2,000 bonus points apiece for the 2nd, 4th and 6th stays
Complete six stays and save 25% on a future Starpoints redemption
Double elite credit toward status

dsbsdhbdhsj — Not every SPG member is eligible for this targeted promotion. I didn't receive an offer, but you might!

Per the same Flyertalk thread, it looks like I'm not the only SPG elite who didn't benefit from this targeted offer. Several Gold and Platinum members reported also being ineligible for the promotion, so it seems like elite status doesn't factor into SPG's offer.

Your Select Member Exclusive Bonus must be earned on points-earning Starwood stays that are completed within the promotion period of November 3, 2014, through January 31, 2015. Bookings made prior to this period are eligible, but only if they're completed within this period. Free Night Awards will be credited to your account within 2–4 weeks of the eligible stay posting to your SPG account.

Any bonus or free nights you earn via this promo must be used for a standard room at Category 1-5 properties any night of the week by December 31, 2015. Although SPG's top two property categories are ineligible, Category 5 include several Luxury Collection hotels worldwide, as well some nice W and Le Meridien properties in both the U.S. and Europe. To redeem your bonus or free nights, you'll have to call your appropriate SPG Customer Contact Center and mention Award ID code 1TDFN.
