Here’s a recap of the top points and miles news from this week:

Reminder - this weekend is your last opportunity to buy US Airways miles with a 100% bonus, as the promotion ends on Sunday May 25, 2014. The bonus amounts are as follows:

• Purchase 10,000-19,000 miles, get a 50% bonus
• Purchase 20,000-29,000 miles, get a 75% bonus
• Purchase 30,000-50,000 miles, get a 100% bonus

You can purchase a maximum of 50,000 miles. This is an excellent opportunity, especially if you choose to purchase all 50,000 miles, as the cost is lowered to about 1.88 cents per mile. Miles normally cost cost 3.5 cents each, plus a 7.5% tax.

Reminder - Week Two Daily Getaways May 26-30: This coming week the Daily Getaways offers for May 26-30 will be unveiled daily at 1 pm EDT, and will be available to any US resident age 18 or older to purchase throughout the promotion period until the limited inventory is sold out. All of the Daily Getaways have the added benefit that you can receive an additional 10% off for purchasing with an Amex card. This week's deals include IHG Reward points, Las Vegas hotel packages, City Passes, Diamond Resort offers and Theme Park tickets.

100% Bonus on Purchased Avianca LifeMiles: For each increment of 1,000 LifeMiles you purchase, you will receive a bonus of 1,000 more. Each package of 1,000 miles costs $35.40, so you are essentially getting 2,000 miles for $35.40 with the 100% bonus. You can purchase a maximum of 75,000 miles with this promotion, earning you a total of 150,000. This offer is only valid for members enrolled in the program since May 5, 2014 or before, and the offer expires on May 30, 2014. Avianca is the only member of Star Alliance that does not add fuel surcharges to award flights, so there are plenty of valuable opportunities to use LifeMiles.

Alaska Offers Double Elite Qualifying Miles for Salt Lake City Flights: To celebrate their new flight offerings (Boise, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego and San Jose now fly nonstop to/from Salt Lake City), Alaska Airlines is offering double elite qualifying miles on all Salt Lake City flights. You must first register for the promotion prior to June 15, 2014, and travel between June 9 and August 1, 2014.

50% Off Inflight Movie or Show with Gogo: Gogo is launching their new "Entertainment On Demand" service, and is offering a 50% discount on one movie or show for trying it. Simply enter your email address here and they will send you a link to download the Gogo video player and your chosen movie or show. You must download before you board and carry the device used to download onboard with you. Movies typically start at$3.99 and shows start at $.99 without the discount. Offer expires on June 15, 2014 and is limited to one per person.

Get 10% Off Award Tickets With Virgin Australia: Get 10% off when you book award seats on Virgin Australia by May 31, 2014 and travel by June 30, 2014. You can also get a 10% bonus if you transfer points to your Velocity account by May 31, 2014. The 10% bonus is only valid on transfers from ANZ Rewards, Commonwealth Bank Awards, ANZ Business One Visa Rewards, Citibank Citi Rewards, Diners Club Reward, Suncorp Rewards, Card Services Rewards and Australian American Express Card holders.

Get 50% Bonus Flying Club Miles for flying Virgin Atlantic Economy: Fly Virgin Atlantic Economy by July 10, 2014, and earn 50% bonus Flying Club miles and two additional bonus tier points on every flight. Register first, and fly as many times as you wish. If you're not a Flying Club member, you can join and register for the promotion simultaneously. Register by June 10, 2014 and fly by July 10, 2014.

Bonus Points for Etihad BusinessConnect Signup: Sign up for the Etihad Airways company loyalty program BusinessConnect and receive 10,000 bonus miles for your Etihad Guest account and 10,000 miles for your new Etihad BusinessConnect account. First, sign your company up for the BusinessConnect account and then connect your Guest account along with one other business traveler Guest account number. A minimum of one BusinessConnect traveler must then book and fly within three months of the BusinessConnect account registration date.
