For the past year or so, Delta has been making an aggressive push into the Seattle market not only with new transcontinental routes there but also a slew of transpacific flights that are making the airport look more and more like a Delta hub.
To highlight its new presence, the airline just announced a new promotion where SkyMiles members can earn double miles on all Delta-marketed and Delta or Delta Connection-operated flights from Seattle to San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles now through October 31, 2014. To qualify for the bonus miles, SkyMiles members must register here prior to travel and book by December 31, 2013. The airline currently operates 7 daily nonstops between Seattle and both LA and San Francisco, and 5 daily nonstops from Seattle to Las Vegas.
SkyMiles members can earn unlimited bonus miles during the promotional period for travel booked prior to Dec. 31, 2013. Members may begin or end their travel in any city to earn bonus miles on flights from Seattle to San Francisco, Los Angeles or Las Vegas, however, bonus miles will only be earned based on travel flown on Delta-operated flights to or from Seattle and the eligible cities listed. Codeshare flights operated by carriers other than Delta or Delta Connection are excluded from this offer. Bonus miles do not count toward Medallion status or Million Miler status.
While it’s too bad that the bonus miles don’t count towards elite status like some of American’s more lucrative double EQM promos from last year, I still wouldn’t turn down the chance to earn double miles on flights if your travel happens to be taking you to Seattle, and for the Seattle-based flyers out there, this is a good chance to rack up some bonus miles on your West Coast flights (or at least the ones you can plan out by December 31).
