IHG “Flash Sale” – Up To 75% Off Award Stays October-November

IHG Rewards is having a “Flash Sale” of up to 25-75% off award reservations booked by 10:00 am ET tomorrow (Tuesday) for stays booked October 8 through November 8, 2013.
IHG announced the news to their online community along with a full list of the hotels participating and the savings offered at each. There is no special link or code needed, and the discounted rates load automatically.
There are 49 properties in the US participating, and 18 international locations, so there are a lot of options to choose from. Some of the properties included in the sale are the Holiday Inn San Francisco-Intl Airport (75%), the Holiday Inn Express Middletown/Newport in Rhode Island (75% 0ff), Holiday Inn Express Hangzhou in China (50% off), and the InterContinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel in Cyprus (50% off).
For example, here is a sample booking at the Hotel Indigo London Tower Hill in November for 20,000 points instead of the 45,000 normally required for an award night there, or the nightly rate of 189 GBP ($306). That’s a 55% discount, more than doubling the value of the points you redeem.
Even if you don’t know your exact plans yet, you might as well take advantage since you can cancel a reservation before 6:00 pm (local hotel time) the night before your stay with no penalty.
