Targeted 100% US Airways Buy Miles Bonus Ends July 31: As a recap from earlier this month, US Airways is currently offering a targeted bonus of 100% for buying or gifting miles up to 50,000 (so 100,000 with the bonus) through July 31, 2013. Miles are sold for 3.5 cents each plus a 7.5% tax recovery charge. You can only buy up to 50,000 miles at time (100,000 with the bonus), which will cost $1,881.25, or nearly 1.9 cents per mile. Although buying miles can be costly and usually only makes sense with a specific redemption in mind, given the fact that US Airways will merge with American sometime in 2014 and the deal is expected to close by the end of the summer, this could be one of your last chances to get in on a 100% bonus on purchased miles.
Earn 1,000 bonus United miles with Waldorf Astoria and Conrad: United has teamed up with Hilton's Waldorf Astoria and Conrad brands to offer guests some bonus miles when staying with them. Now through December 31, 2013, when you stay at a Waldorf Astoria or Conrad property you'll earn 1,000 bonus United miles per night. The great thing is this offer may be combined with other discounts or promotions. Just be sure to select United MileagePlus as your preferred Double Dip Points and Miles partner in your HHonors profile to qualify for this offer. The bonus points will take about 6-8 weeks to post to your United account.
