Daily Getaways Week 4: Priority Club Points, Wyndham Rewards, Diamond Resorts and Caesars

Daily Getaways is a travel promotion sponsored by American Express and the U.S. Travel Association, a non-profit trade association with the mission of increasing travel to and within the US, where you can sometimes purchase points and miles packages for a fraction of the price they would normally cost. This year, the promotion is running from June 10 – July 12, 2013. Each week of the promo, five daily travel deals which go live at 1:00 pm EDT each day, and American Express cardmembers receive an additional 10% off their purchases, so be sure to use your American Express card if you buy any of these.

Looking ahead to week four, here’s what will be on sale from July 1-5. There are some Caesars and Diamond Resort packages as well as some points purchase options from Priority Club and Wyndham.

The ones that might be the most interesting from this week are the Priority Club points packages since if you go for the big ones of 50,000 points for $325 (0.65 cents per point) or 100,000 points for $630 (0.63 cents per point), you could then put those points towards some expensive hotel redemptions. For example, let’s say you wanted a quick weekend in Paris this summer during a trip to Europe. If you bought the 100,000-point package for $630, you could then redeem those points for 2 award nights at the Intercontinental Le Grand in Paris.

Also, the PointBreaks list was just announced this week, so you can maximize on this, by redeeming at some of the properties on the list including: InterContinental Phnom Penh, InterContinental Real San Jose-Costa Rica, InterContinental Athenaeum Athens, InterContinental Bucharest, and the InterContinental Asiana Saigon which require only 5,000 points a night for stays through August 31, 2013. So theoretically, if you bought 100,000 for $630, you could get up to 20 award nights with them by booking through PointBreaks.
