Saturday Recap: Bonus Delta SkyMiles in BusinessElite, Bonus AAdvantage Miles from Hertz, Tickets Now Available for 2013 Chicago Seminars, Earn Bonus Rapid Rewards Points from Alamo
Here’s a recap of the interesting points and miles news from this week:
Corporate Travelers Earn Up To 20,000 Miles To Sydney Or Tokyo-Narita: Delta launched a promotion that awards flyers with bonus miles when traveling in BusinesElite between New York (JFK) and Tokyo-Narita (NRT) or between Los Angeles (LAX) and Sydney (SYD). SkyMiles members will earn 5,000 bonus miles for each segment flown (up to 20,000 miles) for flights booked now though May 26, 2013 for travel by June 26, 2013. Only paid BusinessElite fares in J, C, D, I and Z fare classes are eligible. To participate, be sure to register first. The terms state that SkyMiles members must be a current eligible traveler for a company that has a corporate travel program with Delta Air Lines, however I was able to register so it can't hurt to try and register anyway. Allow up to eight weeks after the promotion ends for the bonus SkyMiles to post.
Earn up to 6X American Airlines AAdvantage miles with Hertz: Now through August 31, 2013, AAdvantage members can save up to 35% and earn up to 6x AAdvantage bonus miles on their next Hertz car rental. Simply rent a Hertz vehicle for one to four days and earn 4x bonus miles, or rent any vehicle for 5 or more days and earn 6x bonus miles. This is valid at participating airport locations in the U.S, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Be sure to mention Discount (CPD) # 217692 and Promotional Code (PC) #179255.
Tickets Now Available for the 2013 Chicago Seminars: This year’s Chicago Seminars were a ton of fun, and a great learning experience for everyone there – including me! The dates and location have already been set for the Chicago Seminars 2013 as well and tickets are now available! They’ll take place Friday-Sunday, October 11-13, 2013, at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village near Chicago O’Hare again. There is a schedule that is posted on Flyertalk, which mentions all the speakers and activities planned. So far, I will be speaking on Saturday from 2:00-3:45pm about Advanced Credit Card Strategies, and would love to see as many TPG readers there as possible.
Registration Now Open for FTU Tampa in September: Registration is officially open for Frequent Traveler University in Tampa, September 27-29. Tickets are $100 and go towards covering the cost of the event as it’s a non-profit affair. I will be presenting, however my topic is yet to be determined. This event will take place at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. There is currently a room block, with rooms for $119 per night which can be booked here. In addition, other speakers will include Gary Leff from View From the Wing, Ben Schlappig from One Mile at a Time, Darius Dubash of Million Miler Secrets, and more will be announced. Earn Bonus Rapid Rewards Points from Alamo: Now through June 15, 2013, Rapid Reward members can earn up to 2,400 Rapid Rewards Points (instead of the standard 600 points) and save up to 30% on qualifying Alamo rentals. This offer is valid at participating Alamo locations in the United States. Here's how it works: rent one day, earn 600 points; rent for two to three days, earn 1,200 points; rent for four to six days, earn 1,800 points; or rent for seven days or longer and earn 2,400 points. You can either book on the Southwest Car Rental site or head over to the Alamo site and then enter Corporate ID 7016128 when making the reservation. Allow six to eight weeks for Rapid Rewards Points to post to your account.
Enter to Win Marriott's 42 Contest and Sweepstakes: Marriott Rewards Insiders posted a contest based on the upcoming film 42 about Jackie Robinson. Now through April 14th, Marriott Rewards members can share their baseball stories for a chance to win a prize package of Marriott Rewards points, tickets to a professional baseball game or passes to see 42 in theaters. Everyone who submits a story earns 500 Marriott Rewards points per story (up to a maximum of 1,000 Marriott Rewards points). The finalists will receive 7,000 Marriott Rewards points each; the runner-up receives 20,000 Marriott Rewards points and two tickets to see a 2013 professional baseball game; and the winner receives 60,000 Marriott Rewards points and two tickets to see a 2013 professional baseball game. Donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and earn bonus AAdvantage Miles: American Airlines is offering AAdvantage members the opportunity to earn 10 AAdvantage bonus miles for every dollar donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. To donate head on over to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation page. There is a minimum $25 donation required to receive AAdvantage miles. This offer is valid through March 31, 2013 so if you would like to donate, be sure to do so this weekend. Allow up to eight weeks for the AAdvantage bonus miles to be posted to your AAdvantage account. American states that for charitable deduction purposes, each mile is valued at 2.75 cents per mile, and the AAdvantage mileage cap for a 12-month period is 60,000 AAdvantage miles per AAdvantage account. This is a great way to earn some bonus American miles while donating to a good cause.
