Today's Daily Getaway installment is an offer to buy United domestic flight certificates for $280. Considering domestic roundtrips have been skyrocketing lately, this seems like a decent deal, however there are only a measly 20 of them for sale and you don't earn miles on these trips. I suspect they will be snatched up instantly at 12:00 EST, but if you have time it may pay off to try your luck and keep refreshing - often times you can snag one a couple minutes later when someone decides they don't want to purchase it (or their credit card isn't accepted). That's how I won my 15,000 Hertz points - just as I was about to give up, they magically showed up as available and I quickly checked out and paid with my American Express Platinum card, which got me 10% off the purchase - as all Amex cards do with this promotion.

Delivery: Within 10 business days of purchase, you will receive your travel certificate from United via FedEx to the address provided at purchase. At the same time, United will send you a tracking number for the certificate via email to the email address provided at purchase.

Certificate cannot be combined with any other discount certificate or coupon offer, including but not limited to Mileage Plus or Silver Wings Plus certificates. Additionally, travel under ticket issued against this certificate is not eligible for Mileage Plus credit.
Certificate, as well as any ticket issued against it, is neither transferable or exchangeable. Certificate will be sent with a blank passenger name to be filled in by the buyer. Certificate will only be redeemed for a ticket in the name of the passenger indicated by the buyer on the certificate.
Certificate has no cash value. Ticket issued against the certificate may not be returned for certificate re issuance and may not be exchanged.
Certificate, and the ticket issued against it, is void if altered and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
Certificate, and the ticket issued against it, is void after midnight on the last day of the travel period shown on the certificate face and will not be extended.
