American Airlines recently launched a bunch of new routes from Los Angeles, including Shanghai, Oklahoma City and Tuscon. To celebrate they are giving away free miles with the Fortune Cookie promotion. Simple steps:

1) Click on “Don’t have a code?” to generate a code
2) Enter your email address
3) Enter the security code and select the “Accept” box
4) If you don’t win any miles the first time, repeat steps 1-3 with different (fake) email addresses until you win.
5) Once you win miles (it took me 12 tries to win a measly 200 miles), just enter your AA number and you you are good to go!

They don’t seem to have cookies (ha – no pun intended) to track if you’ve already had a code, so ostensibly you could do this all day until you get a big prize. This is a good, cheap way to extend the expiration on your AA miles, so it may be worth the 5 minutes of persistence in order to get a prize. Please comment below with your results!
