Amtrak just announced a pretty lucrative promotion that initially allows you to earn double points and then awards triple points for the last two weeks of the promotion. To sign up, log into your account.

Members will earn DOUBLE points on Amtrak travel until May 6, 2011. And to celebrate National Train Day, starting May 7th, members earn TRIPLE points until May 21, 2011.

Must be an Amtrak Guest Rewards member and register for this offer online or by calling 1-800-307-5000 to participate. Earn double points on qualifying Amtrak travel from March 21, 2011 12:00:00am CST through May 6, 2011 11:59:59 CST and earn triple points on qualifying Amtrak travel from May 7, 2011 12:00:00am CST through May 21, 2011 11:59:59 CST. Cancelled or refunded reservations/tickets will be deemed ineligible. Members must include their membership number when making reservations for travel to qualify.
