Shayne Benowitz

Managing Editor - Lifestyle

Shayne BenowitzShayne Benowitz developed a love for travel and the unfamiliar at an early age when her family moved across the country from Southern California to the suburbs of Atlanta. After graduating from the University of Georgia, she started her career in New York City as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher with Teach For America where she also earned her Master’s Degree from Fordham University. While she loved working in public education and the city, she found herself desiring adventure. This led her to Key West where she worked for a water sports company, spending every day offshore on a boat and snorkeling at the coral reef. Key West afforded her the freedom to write and travel, and she spent two consecutive winters in Paris writing and falling in love with the city. She moved to Miami Beach where she resides today to launch her full-time writing career. She is the Hotels Editor for Miami.com and contributes to The Miami Herald, AOL Travel, Aventura Magazine and other publications. She’s interviewed such celebrities and tastemakers as Pharrell Williams, David Guetta and Robin Thicke, and covers Miami’s top annual events from Art Basel to South Beach Wine & Food Festival. She also has her own travel blog, Wanderlust Chameleon.

As the Lifestyle Editor of The Points Guy, Shayne is in search of the most fascinating and relevant travel stories out there to share with TPG readers. She’s responsible for working with a team of contributing writers and shaping the travel lifestyle editorial voice for the site. She knows the best travel advice comes from trusted, savvy friends and looks forward to swapping stories at The Points Guy. You can email her at [email protected] and follow her on Twitter @ShayneBenowitz.
