Last week, American Express rolled out some significant changes to its line of premium cards. For the personal Platinum Card from American Express, you’ll now earn a whopping 5x points on all airfare purchases. Perhaps even more significant are the changes to the Business Platinum Card — it’s currently offering a sign-up bonus of 50,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 within the first three months of account opening and an additional 50,000 bonus points if you spend $15,000 in the same period of time.
The changes don’t stop there, however. The card is offering a 50% rebate on any points you redeem for economy or premium-cabin airfare with the same carrier you’ve selected for your annual $200 airline fee credit and will allow you to earn 1.5x points on all purchases of $5,000 or more (capped at 1 million extra points per year).
Enter to win no later than 11:59pm ET on Monday, October 17. To enter this giveaway, send a tweet or Instagram post (@thepointsguy) with a picture that represents your favorite Amex redemption — be sure to include the hashtag #WinTPGAmex to be considered. Last week’s winners: Last week, we gave away a $500 Southwest gift card. Congratulations again to Paul V., who won the gift card by posting on Instagram. Stay tuned for more great giveaways on the blog, as well as on TPG’s Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat accounts.
