Tesla recently put its famed Model S P90D electric car to the test in Australia, racing one of Qantas’ 737-800 aircraft on a runway. You might think that a car has no chance against a massive plane, but the results were surprising. Tesla’s Model S was able to compete — at least until the 737 went airborne.

This video wasn’t just made to show off what each brand’s incredible machines can do — Qantas and Tesla are teaming up to offer Tesla Model S owners Qantas Club membership, as well as charging stations at the carrier’s valet facilities at select airports in Australia. Qantas frequent flyers will also have access to exclusive events with Tesla.
