At TPG, we’re big fans of SPG Moments, the Starwood membership feature that lets you buy or bid on unique experiences and events. Well, the SPG team’s come up with a doozy this time — and if you’ve been thinking about visiting UAE, this could be your chance to do it in style.

Here’s the deal: On September 1, Emirates is launching its first nonstop flight from Orlando (MCO) to Dubai (DXB). To celebrate this (kind of weird?) new route, it’s auctioning off two seats on the inaugural flight. The winner receives:

  • Two (2) Emirates business-class tickets on the inaugural from Orlando (USA) to Dubai (UAE) departing on 1 September Dubai, returning on 5 September to Orlando
  • Three-night (3-night) stay for two (2) at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai, including breakfast
  • Two (2) passes for the Emirates A380 Experience at the Village, Dubai Mall

While Business Class + Sheraton + heat so aggressive it’s nearly sentient doesn’t exactly scream “trip of a lifetime” to everyone, it could be a good deal if you’re into the auction game.

bid

But be warned: The bidding as of this writing is up to 155,500 Starpoints; as One Mile at a Time points out, you could take this trip yourself using 283,000 Starpoints, so you might want to hold off on bidding until you see just how high it gets before the August 13 deadline.

Do you think it’s a good deal? Will you be placing a bid? Let us know in the comments.
