Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel.
Welcome to mileage run territory! Earlier today, we shared a great fare from Los Angeles and Anchorage, but this afternoon’s fare between several East Coast cities and Los Angeles is an even better deal. This works out to roughly 2.8 cents per mile, which is a steal. Per The Flight Deal, you can fly between Boston, New York or Philadelphia and Los Angeles for $149 round-trip. Flights from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are available as well for a few dollars more.
The $149 fare is available from late August through early November (sadly it won’t do you much good for Thanksgiving). It’s also available for same-day turns at $144 round-trip, since you won’t need to pay the TSA fees for the return flight. The $149 fares require a stop in Chicago or Dallas in each direction. You can also fly nonstop from Chicago (ORD) for just $118 round-trip.
Update: In addition to what’s below, you can also book the following:
Route(s): BOS, NYC, PHL to LAX
