The Points Guy recently flew from Newark to Paris on new French airline La Compagnie, which offers affordable all-business-class service across the pond, and really enjoyed his experience. Just this week, La Compagnie announced that it would be launching its own loyalty program, MyCompagnie — and if you sign up before June 30th, 2015, you’ll earn 10 bonus points, which would put you halfway to a free one-way ticket on the airline.

How To Earn Points with MyCompagnie

The type of fare you purchase will determine how many points you’ll earn when you fly La Compagnie — between 1-5 points per fare class. However, note that it appears that you’ll earn the same amount of points whether you’re buying a one-way or round-trip fare.

How To Redeem Points with MyCompagnie

As you’ll see in La Compagnie’s fixed-amount award chart in the screenshot above, you’ll need either 20 points for a one-way award or 40 points for a round-trip award.

However, since the program hasn’t officially launched yet, there’s no sure way to know whether you’ll be able to redeem for any seat on a flight, or if they’ll restrict the number of seats available for award tickets.

You can view the present full terms and conditions of the program, but note some of the highlights:

  • Points expire after 3 years
  • You must redeem for award flights over the phone (which leads me to believe they’re going to limit award space)
  • You’re able to cancel award tickets up to an hour before a flight, for a fee of €50 (about $56) each way
