Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here – Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card
Great news for non-elite Hilton members! As of today, June 4, 2015, free Wi-Fi will be available for all HHonors members. Back in March, we heard that Hilton planned to offer complimentary standard Wi-Fi access to Blue and Silver members beginning this August. However, the hotel chain has decided to move up the date and provide free internet access to all HHonors members two months earlier than planned.
Last year, both Marriott and Starwood began offering free Wi-Fi to members of their elite programs, and Hyatt flipped the switch in February, so it was only a matter of time before Hilton added this amenity as well. Free access is available to any member of Hilton’s HHonors frequent-guest program, but you’ll need to book directly through Hilton’s app, website or call center, or via approved corporate travel partners. Additionally, Diamond members staying at hotels in the Americas will be eligible for premium Wi-Fi beginning later this month. However, Hilton’s speedier Wi-Fi offering will not be available in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia until August or September. Hilton updated its HHonors Terms and Conditions to reflect this latest addition.
IHG led the way when it began offering free Wi-Fi to all IHG reward members in 2014. Complimentary Wi-Fi is a valuable amenity, particularly for leisure travelers who aren’t charging internet to an expense account, so we’re glad to see that Hilton has caught up with other major hotel chains in providing this offering.
If you’d like to try out Hilton’s free Wi-Fi for yourself, you can earn two free weekend nights when you spend $2,500 within the first four months of account opening with the Citi Hilton Reserve, and through this Sunday, you’ll also receive a $100 statement credit when you spend $100 or more on a Hilton stay within the first three months. This card’s sign-up bonus of two free nights can be worth as much as 190,000 points if you redeem them at top-tier properties like the Conrad Maldives, and it also confers automatic Gold status and the ability to earn Diamond status through spending.
