United passengers will soon be able to fly aboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on a handful of routes from Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The 787-9, Boeing’s latest Dreamliner model, will begin flying on existing routes from Houston, beginning with Rio de Janeiro this summer, and followed by Frankfurt, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Santiago de Chile and Tokyo Narita over the following months. This extended version of the Dreamliner, which United currently operates on a small number of routes, including Los Angeles to Melbourne, will replace aging aircraft such as the Boeing 777-200ER and the Boeing 767-300ER.

For passengers on these routes out of Houston, the aircraft switch-up ultimately means a better in-flight experience, with the 787-9’s fast, reliable WiFi among other amenities. While the older (and shorter) Dreamliner 787-8 does fly in and out of Houston, the more advanced -9 version is certainly a welcome addition. See below for the specific aircraft being replaced, as well as the starting date for each city.

  • August 18 – Rio de Janeiro, replacing a Continental Airlines B777-200ER
  • September 24 – Frankfurt, replacing aircraft including the B787-8
  • October 25 – Buenos Aires, replacing B767-300ER
  • December 17 – Amsterdam, replacing B777-200ER
  • January 5 – Santiago de Chile, replacing B767-300ER
  • March 3 – Tokyo – Narita, replacing a Continental Airlines B777-200ER
