Emirates Blocks Upgrades on the Cheapest Fare Class

Emirates is changing their rules regarding upgrades on February 1, 2015. Emirates flyers with fares categorized as Business Special and Economy Special will no longer be able to upgrade their tickets. There’s more negative news for Qantas loyalists flying on Emirates: the Emirates new Business Special fares will lose that extra 25% premium cabin bonus in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. Under these new rules, Business Special fares will earn the same as EK economy fares.
