Delta One-Way Awards Now Bookable
As of January 1, 2015, you can now book one-way award tickets on Delta Air Lines using SkyMiles. Saver level domestic one-way awards will start at 12,500 miles. Unfortunatately, stopovers on award tickets will no longer be allowed, among other negative changes to the 2015 SkyMiles program.
Air Canada Aeroplan Bonus Miles for Best Western Stays
You can earn 2,000 Aeroplan miles (250 base and 1,750 bonus) for each qualified Best Western stay if you choose Air Canada Aeroplan as your Best Western Rewards earning partner. Clearly, you must be a member of both Best Western Rewards and Air Canada Aeroplan to participate. A qualified stay is considered to be one or more consecutive nights, and the offer is valid for stays at participating Best Western properties in the U.S., Caribbean, and Canada from January 1 – April 30, 2015. You must first register for this offer, and there does not seem to be a maximum number of bonus points that can be earned with this promotion.
Etihad Offers Double/Triple Miles for Business/First Class Flights
You can earn double Etihad Guest miles when you fly Etihad Business class, and triple Guest miles when you fly Etihad First class from January 5 – March 31, 2015. The offer is valid on flights ticketed and booked before January 31, 2015. Make sure to register your Etihad Guest membership number for the promotion before you book any tickets.
IHG No Longer Offers Rewards Points for Stays Booked Through Online Travel Agencies
If you book an IHG hotel stay through an online travel agency like Priceline or Expedia, you will no longer be eligible to earn IHG Rewards points on the stay, according to the new Terms & Conditions from IHG. The official wording is below:
“OTA Earn Restriction. IHG® Rewards Club members will not earn points during a stay or retroactively on any reservations booked through Online Travel Agencies (OTA). This restriction includes but is not limited to: earning points on food and beverage purchases, parking, in room dining, movies, and any other incidental charges incurred during the member’s length of stay.”
Alaska Airlines Launches Winter Award Sale
Alaska Airlines is having a winter sale valid for economy award redemptions on Alaska Airlines flights between January 6 and March 5, 2015. You must book your award ticket by January 8, 2015 to get the sale rate. Redemptions start as low as 5,000 miles + applicable taxes each way. Use the sale website to search for award tickets by departure city.
Hilton HHonors January Category Adjustments Now Visible Online
Several Hilton properties are moving up or down a Category, and you can now view the changes on the Hilton website. Many of the properties will be changing on January 14, 2015. Some of the more notable changes are the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort (moving from Category 10 to 9), and the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam (rising from Category 9 to 10.

- Every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on your British Airways Visa card, you'll earn a Travel Together Ticket good for two years.
