National Car Rental’s “One Two Free” promotion returns today, August 20, 2014. This year’s promo invites Emerald Club members to earn Free Rental Days after every two qualifying rentals or after earning 600 points, and will run through January 31, 2015.

In order to to take advantage of this promotion, you’ll have to be enrolled in National’s Emerald Club loyalty program and opt in to receive emails from National. Once you register for “One Two Free 2014,” Emerald Club points will be awarded for each paid rental of a midsize or larger vehicle for any period of two or more consecutive days between August 20, 2014 and January 31, 2015. Through this promo, rentals can be made at participating National Car Rental locations in all 50 U.S. states (as well as Washington, D.C.), but credit won’t be given for rentals made prior to a member’s registration date.

The online dashboard for “One Two Free 2014” (see image above) presents a variety of ways to earn points toward Free Rental Days, including 75 points for downloading the National smartphone app and using it to book your rental. If you want to earn even more points through the promotion, be sure to share the love: you’ll earn a bonus of 300 points for each person you refer who then enrolls in the promo and completes one qualifying rental by January 31, 2015.

Allow five business days for points earned in the this promotion to hit your account, and once you earn 600 points, you’ll have to wait up to two weeks to redeem a Free Rental Day. Visit this site to view your Free Rental Day coupons, click “Redeem,” and then make a reservation (at least 24 hours in advance) to rent a compact through full-size car from now through June 15, 2015.

No more than three Free Rental Days may be redeemed toward one rental of three or more days. Free Rental Day coupons exclude all taxes, surcharges, fuel charges, optional items and fees.
