The sign-up offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card has been increased from 40,000 to 50,000 points after $4,000 spent within the first three months. You can earn an additional 5,000 points when you add an authorized user and make a purchase within the first 3 months as well.
The First Friday of the month is here, which means you can earn 3x Ultimate Rewards points on dining purchases with the Chase Sapphire or Sapphire Preferred cards. No registration is necessary, Chase will award the bonus points automatically for any qualifying purchases made by 11:59 pm in whatever time zone you happen to find yourself.
While Chase has announced plans to get rid of the 7% dividend on the Sapphire Preferred, current cardholders will still earn the bonus for this year and next, so the 3x points on First Friday dining really translates to 3.21 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent. As always, you can double or triple dip by booking a reservation with OpenTable, or by using certificates from Restaurant.com.
Stack First Friday With Dining Program Bonuses and Gift Cards
Both AAdvantage Dining and United MileagePlus Dining are still offering a 10,000 mile bonus when you make 10 dining purchases (of at least $40 each) at participating restaurants between now and August 15, 2014. Note that $40 gift card purchases will work to trigger the 10,000 mile dining program bonus, so if you don’t have plans to eat out 10 times during the promotion period, you can buy the gift cards today (on First Friday) to maximize your points and miles!
