wish there was something to earn emirates miles

3,100 Delta Miles for Direct TV? That’s horrible! I have received 25K AA miles and 2 years later got 30K United miles for my wife by moving.

What happened with the Marriott/Facebook promotion? You only seem to earn miles for the first group of “likes” on Facebook. After that, nothing. What’s up with that?

For the American purchase miles, how good is this offer compared with other ones they have for purchasing miles?

  • Trent B.

I agree with @antignos, just last night I signed up for DirecTV and will be receiving 30,000 United miles. I prefer AT&T’s U-verse, but I’m moving and it’s not available in the new location. I calculated the cost for 24 months to have the DirecTV tier I prefer along with the comparable Dish Network tier, and came to a difference of only $12, so the DirecTV option was a no brainer (assuming the products are comparable…) since Dish only offered a small 12k (I think) Southwest Rapid Rewards points.

I just got a wave of points….a lot later than when I actually liked the pages… be patient

II’m looking back through prior American-related TPG articles and there’s one from May 2014 with a similar program, purchase 45k-59k and get a bonus of 13.5k, purchase 60k+ and get a bonus of 18k. In April 2014 there was an even better deal, purchase 65k+ and get a bonus of 26k. For that second deal TPG comments that it’s not the best American has ever offered. I’m not in immediate need of miles, I’d like to wait until there’s another 26k bonus.
