Kind of pathetic that Points.com is a Canadian company based in Toronto yet the contest is only open to US citizens.

  • Big Boy Travel

where do you sign up for the Points.com contest?
Their website says nothing about a contest and the link you provided for the terms doesn’t reference an entry form

  • http://www.thepointsguy.com PR@TPG

Whoops, link was to terms and conditions instead of contest page. It’s updated now; thanks for noticing!

I found this one as well at vftw. Free round trip to Europe

The contest specifies IHG Rewards, but the official rules imply that you can choose from among a number of loyalty programs.

The Air France Flying Blue promotion has a broken site indicating you need to type in characters to submit your photo…but there are no characters visible (it’s a broken link/generator).

  • Bill Rubin

Now the Air France Flying Blue Flying View promotion does not seem to EVER accept the characters needed to submit the photos. It’s INSANE.

  • Big Boy Travel

i saw the same thing, it doesn’t work

  • Big Boy Travel

is it weird that Points.com wants you IHG username and password to add it? I understand the point, but doesnt it open you up to someone hacking your account/stealing your points?

  • Mike

It shows the characters once you’ve uploaded a photo.

Much like Award Wallet, Points.com requires usernames and passwords to your accounts so it can monitor your balances. Sure, the more widely distributed that information is, the more vulnerable it is, but Points.com has been around for a long time and I’ve never heard of anyone’s data being hacked. I think you don’t need to worry about it.

  • Therese

How do I know I’ve been entered into the Point.com offer? I signed up and added all my programs, including ihg. But I’ve received no confirmation about the contest entry.

  • Maudly

FYI – Just talked to Points.com customer service and was told, “In order to enter the Million Miles sweepstakes, you have to actually enter directly from one of the reward program websites (like American Airlines, US Airways, IHG). If you clicked on the Points.com link in the blog, unfortunately, you have not been entered.”
