As June comes to a close and we swing into the summer months, many bonuses and promotions are also ending. Here is a round up of the current offers that will no longer be available after June 30, 2014.
Starwood 30,000 offer

Starwood Amex Limited Time Offer: Earn 30,000 points for the personal and business versions, 10,000 after your first purchase and an additional 20,000 when you spend $5,000 within 6 months. The normal sign up offer for this card is 25,000 points, and while an extra 5,000 points may not seem like a monumental increase, I value Starpoints at 2.1 cents apiece, so those 5,000 points provide a nice little bump in value – especially since the annual fee is waived the first year. Here are the full details:

  • 30,000 points - 10,000 after your first purchase, and an additional 20,000 when you spend $5,000 within 6 months.
  • Get up to 5 Starpoints for every $1 of eligible spend charged directly with Starwood hotels & resorts – that’s 2 Starpoints per dollar spent on the card in addition to the Starpoints you get as a Starwood Preferred Guest member.
  • Get 1 Starpoint for every dollar of eligible purchases.
  • $65 annual fee, waived for the first year.

50,000 Point Southwest Credit Card Offers: Sign-up bonuses on both the personal and business version of the Premier and the personal and business Plus cards have been increased to 50,000 points until June 30, 2014. To get the full bonus on any of these cards, you must spend $2,000 within 3 months of account opening. Chase periodically runs this higher bonus, but you never know if it will come back again, and it usually only lasts a few weeks each time. My guess is that these offers will return, but possibly not until later in 2014.

Here are the details of the Premier version of the Chase Southwest cards:

  • Get 50,000 points for 2 Roundtrip Flights after you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months of opening your account. Government fees as low as $10 not included.
  • Get 6,000 points after your Cardmember Anniversary.
  • Earn 2 points per $1 spent on Southwest Airlines® and AirTran Airways® purchases made directly with the airlines and on Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental Partner purchases.
  • Earn 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
  • Earn 1,500 Tier points for every $10,000 in purchases up to 15,000 Tier points per calendar year
  • Redeem points for gift cards, car rentals, cruises, hotel stays, and international flights to over 800 Destinations on 50+ global carriers.
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $99 annual fee

And here are the Plus card details for the personal and business cards:

  • Get 50,000 points for 2 Roundtrip Flights after you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months of opening your account. Government fees as low as $10 not included.
  • Get 3,000 points after your Cardmember Anniversary.
  • Earn 2 points per $1 spent on Southwest Airlines® and AirTran Airways® purchases made directly with the airlines and on Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental Partner purchases.
  • Earn 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
  • Redeem points for gift cards, car rentals, cruises, hotel stays, and international flights to over 800 Destinations on 50+ global carriers.
  • $69 annual fee

50,000 Miles for The Lufthansa Premier Miles and More World MastercardThe sign-up bonus on this card usually hovers around the 20,000-30,000-mile mark, but with this offer, you get 20,000 miles with your first purchase or balance transfer, as well as the potential to earn 30,000 more bonus miles when you spend $5,000 on purchases within the first 90 days. Here are the full details:

  • Earn 20,000 award miles after your first purchase or balance transfer
  • Earn an additional 30,000 award miles when you spend $5,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of account opening
  • Earn 2 award miles per $1 on ticket purchases directly from Miles & More integrated airline partners and 1 mile per $1 on all other purchases
  • Cardholders receive a companion ticket after first use of the account and annually after each account anniversary
  • No foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside the U.S.
  • Redeem miles for flight awards and upgrades on Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, Star Alliance member airlines and other partners
  • $79 Annual Fee

US Airways 100% Share Miles BonusNormally with Share Miles promotions, the Dividend Miles member who receives the miles would receive the full bonus, but US Airways decided to change the rules this time around and split the bonus so the sender will get 50% and the recipient will get 50%. The price to share miles also changed and was increased from 1 cent to 1.5 cents per mile. Since you also get hit with a $30 processing fee and a tax recovery charge of 7.5%, you are now buying miles for about 1.7 cents a piece.

Just having picked up 5 new cards at the end of April I’m thinking I’ll have to wait till August before I apply again. Do you expect to see more great deals coming?

  • ethanis

I have this card already – can I apply for the business version using my name as the business name as I have done for some other CC’s?

  • ethanis

I am referring to the SPG AMEX, btw

  • Justin

I successfully signed up for the Premier and Plus cards (both personal) within 15 minutes when this deal came out. I’ve since hit both spending limits, so hoping for bonus miles to come through. 2 questions on what to expect:

    1. Has anyone confirmed receiving both bonuses? Worried we may have did this wrong by getting both personal cards.
    2. How soon after hitting spend thresholds has anyone received their bonuses?

  • John

just applied for amex jetblue in early may … would it be safe to apply for the amex starwood now, or should i hold off? what are amex’s policies generally like about applying twice in a quarter?

  • FlyingCajun

I don’t know if getting both will be good/bad. I do know that you have to wait till the billing cycle is done for the month per the cc company to see the points/miles. I’ve sometime seen it where it takes up to 6 weeks too.

  • theRideshareGuy

I think you can usually apply within a week or two but might need someone to confirm…

  • dee seiffer

Yes. Both my husband and I have done it.

  • Justin

It looks like Citi killed the 100k offer for the World Elite as well. The new offer is 50k and most of the 100k app links have come down.

  • Brandon

Received both bonuses on the 2 personal cards. Had to wait for statement to close and points posted to SW within a day or two. Earned CP after the following month closed and points posted.

  • Greg

    HI TPG,
I want to apply Lufthansa, SW and SPG cards using your affiliate links…….but before that, please tell me how do I meet the minimum spending to get the sign up bonus since we cannot load Vanilla gift cards into BB at WM anymore. I checked around my area and all the Office Depot and Staples are out of the $200 fixed about Visa gift card, only the $100 one available but I don’t want to buy a lot of $100 visa gc because it’s a hassle to load them one by one at WM (besides amazon payment and evolve, since I want to pay my credit card bill with bluebird)……I don’t want to be stuck with many GC that cannot be liquidated……..please advise so I can use your link to apply before the offer expires.

  • David

TPG, do you want us to use your affiliate link ? why no reply while we are ready to use your link but have to confirm something first…

  • Common Sense

I think people who write about these topics in detail expect you to read everything they’ve already written about them and to understand that they’ve already shared publicly anything they know that they’re comfortable sharing publicly. If new information becomes available and TPG wants to share it in this forum, I imagine it will be shared via a new article easily accessible to all site readers, not in a random comment reply.

  • iamright

This is supposed to expire on June 30, but the link is still valid. The website shows 25000 bonuses. How do I ensure that I will get the right bonus.

  • iamright

This is for the Southwest offer.

  • losonn

After applying for the Lufthansa card I was approved for the Platinum card and only offered 20k miles. I thought the offer available through your referral link included the 50k bonus even for those approved for the lower Platinum card.

Am I missing something? Do you have a copy of the terms?
