American Express and the US Travel Association (a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting US travel) have partnered to offer discounts and deals with various travel brands and loyalty programs during the next month, including hotel packages, points/miles purchase promos, rental car discounts and more. These deals are called the Daily Getaways.
Each day we’ll hash out the details of that day’s deal to see whether it’s worth taking advantage of.
Today’s deal goes live at 1 pm EDT, and you can sign up for alerts if you’d like to be notified when the deals go live.
All of these promotions have the added benefit that you can save an extra 10% for purchasing with an Amex card, like the Platinum and Premier Rewards Gold, or even co-branded cards like Delta Gold and the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express.
Friday June 6, 2014: Las Vegas Hotel Packages
- Two night getaway for four people at the Mandalay Bay for $1,700, 4 available
- Two nights in a suite at New York, New York for $525, 5 available
- Four nights in a contemporary room at Excalibur for $525, 9 available
- VIP four night getaway at Hotel 32 for $1,150, 4 available
- Four nights in a suite at the Mirage for $1,975, 6 available
All of these packages also include other items like dinner vouchers, spa treatments or show tickets, adding considerable value to the deals, if you can manage to get one.
For example, the deal with the most availability (only nine!) is four nights in the Excalibur hotel for $525, or $472.50 with the Amex discount. The deal includes four nights in a contemporary room, 2 tickets to either Criss Angel Believe OR Jabawockeez, and $400 dining credit. This represents a substantial discount, especially for weekend stays. I priced out four nights in June at Excalibur in a contemporary room for $458. Adding in the show tickets and dining credit makes this a terrific deal. In fact, the extras are the main selling point of these deals, since apart from busy weekends and holidays, hotel rooms in Las Vegas can typically be had for a song (or for points).
These packages are valid through either the end of December, 2014 (for Mirage, Hotel 32, and New York, New York) or the end of January, 2015 (for Excalibur and Mandalay Bay). The deal covers the room and tax, but does not include resort fees. Check the terms and conditions for more details.
Unfortunately, there are very few of these deals available, and your chances of winning the mouse button lottery are low. If you have plans to visit Las Vegas soon, you might take a stab at one of these deals. Otherwise, set your sights on a deal that’s easier to come by, like the IHG Rewards Club points deal from June 5.
