Starwood has a strong history of weaving music into their guests experiences, including the partnership with W Hotels Global Music Director Michaelangelo L’Acqua and the release of the multiple albums including Symmetry. Today, Starwood Preferred Guest announced an interesting new music series with Live Nation Entertainment called  Hear The Music, See The World. This year-long initiative will launch June 5, 2014, and bring unique musical performances to Starwood properties around the world, highlighting each of the nine Starwood brands. Each performer involved will give a one-off, intimate in-hotel concert, and was specially selected to match with a hotel brand and city. Some of the participating artists include Capital Cities, Jason Mraz, Janelle Monae and Kellie Pickler among several others.

And the Winners of Last Week’s Prize of 2 passes to the American Airlines Admirals Club is….

Last week, we discussed that American Express Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders would no longer include the benefit of American Airlines Admirals Club lounge access (nor US Airways Club access) and asked what you’ll miss the most about the access.

Admirals Club

Admirals Club

TPG Reader Nini said “I will miss the ability to sit, catch my breath and relax in between flights during long layovers. Really needed it when heading back and forth to Chile from Maine to visit family.” Congrats Nini, hopefully you’ll enjoy the tranquility of the Admirals Club next time you’re heading down to Chile!

The St. Regis Bora Bora… it’s the most luxurious and magical place I’ve ever stayed. As an ocean-lover and someone who rarely gets a chance to disconnect and relax, it was a dream property. Thanks!

  • B Miris

Instantly it came to me that the St. Regis in New York is my favorite property in the Starwood Collection. It is iconic in this city with an abundance of history attached to it. The building itself is in an ideal spot, overlooking the city. The rooms and lobby areas ooze “plush” and wealth. It can all be yours for a points and cash stay or the price of a drink in the King Cole Bar (a harpist on Sundays says it all).

  • Rik P

    Love the W Vieques.

  • Kevin P

The W South Beach. Not only are even the basic rooms there beautiful suites with ocean views, but I also personally have had many special memories there. From the time I was upgraded to one of the two-story penthouse suites (with your own pool and hot tub on the roof), to the night two years ago when I proposed to my wife after coming back to a room decked out to my exact specifications with the help with the amazing Whatever, Whenever staff. Just an amazing property in a great city

  • John N

My time at the St Regis Princeville was amazing…

  • John N

I read the terms and couldn’t find any maximum on the Ticketmaster cash cards.. Do you happen to know?

Also, this could be big for low level cash + points redemptions if you go to a lot of concerts shows!

  • Elijah Nouvelage

Definitely the W Maldives Retreat and Spa. Incredible property.

  • Mark R.

Westin Kierland Resort – beautiful property & great staff!

The St Regis Bali is incredible!

  • Dr JLo

Would love to stay at St Regis Princeville and would love to go to see Jason Mraz

  • Arthur

Westin Tokyo is a great, central location, walking distance to train stations and across the street from Yebisu Garden Place’

  • FlyingDoc

It may not be exotic, but I highly recommend the Hoboken W. Much less expensive than Manhattan hotels, a 10 minute PATH train ride to Herald Square, very pet friendly and across the street from the Frank Sinatra memorial park.

  • Candace P

I LOVE the St. Regis in NY because it is such a beautiful, classy escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and is Gorgeous too!

  • Steve

It may not be as glamorous as most, but the Le Meridien Kerala is a fantastic property near the water and with an excellent staff. A great place to enjoy a beautiful part of India.

  • Lauren

St Regis Beijing has been my favorite!

  • joshb8403

  • Kevin

I really like the W Seattle. Great property in an awesome city!

The W South Beach! Great location plus with all the local music and dancing, I can learn sweet moves and do a pitiful imitation of Janelle Monae when I see her in NYC!

  • glen

The W in Washington, DC! Right around the corner from the White House!

  • GetToThePoints

    Yes, count me in!!

  • Jiakan Wang

Has to be the W at Times Square. I stayed there last year during July 4th long weekend, and got upgraded to a nice corner room thanks to SPG gold status. The room felt really modern, and the view was super nice. The best part is the location, right at Times Square, so much fun at night.

  • Marlo Williamson

It’s the W Montreal — a great European feel with out having to leave the North American continent.

  • Edward

St. Regis Aspen – tremendous service, property and facilities when on that skiing vacation.

  • Kyle

W Barcelona, because, on top of being an incredible property and great location… the staff treats SPG Platinum members with a level of personal attention I have rarely seen in my 500 nights over the past 3 years at SPG properties – I can’t endorse the place enough.

  • Agnes

W Vieques. Can’t wait to return. All the sunshine and beautiful beaches.. and the most relaxing beach property ever!

  • AC

Blue Palace Crete Resort! Got upgraded to a bi-level room with a private pool. On top of that, it was based on C&P redemption!

I love The Liberty Boston. Gorgeous lobby and great location for sightseeing.

  • Patrick

My pick is the W San Francisco. The lobby and bar scene is hip and lively.

  • Jonatas Silva

I love the Westin palace Madrid, its history and location are unparalleled, across the street from the Prado

  • Robert

The Parker Palm Springs. The amazing toiletries are the best.

  • kodoma

For sheer convenience, Sheraton midtown in NYC. We go to lots of theater and it’s an easy walk.

  • Guest

My favorite Starwood property is the W San Diego, because when I checked out at the front desk after a long night, the agent discreetly slid a pack of Excederin across the counter (without me asking!) and gave me a knowing but caring smirk.

  • jeff

St. Regis Bora Bora. Most beautiful view in the world!

  • r0m8470

I like Four Points Victoria – Vancouver Island, unpretentious, but clean.

  • NVD

Le Meridien SF – it might be in need of some updating now, but it’s where my partner and I were married and will always be my favorite SPG property for sentimental reasons.

  • Michael V

The Westin Chicago has a great location on the Chicago River right by the downtown loop. Walking distance to Millenium Park for museum visits in the afternoon and across the street from House of Blues to catch a show in the evening.

  • Mr. Cool

westin detroit…. unlimited breakfast cinnamon rolls!!!

  • HBahorich

I know it’s not the most exciting location in the entire world, but my favorite SPG location is the Westin in downtown St. Louis. I have stayed there multiple times for birthdays and wedding celebrations. Perfect location for some St. Louis baseball, friendliest staff ever, and softest pillows in the world. I know live so close to this Westin (years later after staying there) that I utilize their gym on a weekly basis, separately owned, but such a great partnership!

  • Tamas Erdos

W @ Ft Lauderdale — love the beach!

  • John Ruda

W Fort Lauderdale… the largest W on earth!

  • Valerie

    Alfonso Sevilla!

  • Teri Ross

    Yup, the Four Points Barcelona

  • joeypore

Definitely the Westin Grand in Vancouver. It’s not some extravagant category 7 property, but the staff is the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever encountered, and it has a special place in my heart being the first Starwood property I stayed in as a gold member.

Side note– Got to hang out with Mayer Hawthorne right before his European tour with Bruno Mars. Great guy, great people working for him, great band, great music. For real, definitely support him as an artist.

  • Peter K

Westin Cancun. Yes, it’s Cancun, but we went off season and it was incredible. The staff tailored our every need and the Platinum perks are some of the best I’ve seen anywhere.

  • orsetto

The Westin Dublin. Great location and suite, and good memories: a nice break from a week without running water on my sister’s farm/construction site.

  • Richard Zoob

The ST. Regis Manhattan, nothing better during the Holiday season in NY.

  • TerryH

    W Paris Opera.

  • cotoneloc

Sheraton Hong Kong – The Sky Lounge provides great views of the city.

The Four Points Barcelona was very nice and the price was right!

  • Stan

Le Meridien Angkor–perfect base in Siem Reap, Cambodia to explore the ancient temples of the Khmer Empire, e.g. Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm (as seen in Tomb Raider).

  • Pazpeaceman

I love the Le Meridian Bali Jimbaran as it has all the luxuries and amenities of a 5 star hotel, plus lots of unique cruise-like perks including ice-cream bars and performances, without the price tag of the St. Regis!

  • Jon

I loved the St. Regis Rome. Loved the look…brings back to a different era.

  • djvdenverguy

Even though we are a family of 5, with three kids ranging from 4-12 years old, my wife and I still love to have ‘alone time’ and ‘date night’ even while on travel. Fortunately, a lot of Starwood properties can accommodate this. But Atlantis is absolute tops for accommodating everyone for whatever your activity – or non-activity.

  • http://about.me/andrewglazier Andrew Glazier

How can I choose? There are too many great ones.

  • Linda

Westin Princeville Ocean Resort in Kauai! The water is beautiful!

  • S Kim

    Jason Mraz in Germany

  • Craig

The W Hotel in Westwood, CA.

  • Todd S.

The Nines, part of the Starwood Luxury Collection, in Portland, OR. It was created by taking 9 floors form an old department store and converting them into this unique hotel. Great place to stay when in Portland.

  • Ernest S.

Sheraton Maui is pretty awesome! It’s located right next to the Black Rock, which is awesome for snorkelers and divers.

  • Derf

Love the St. Regis Monarch in Dana Point, CA. Beautiful view & rooms.

  • Suzie K

I can’t choose between the Westin, Sheraton or Sheraton Villas in Denarau, Fiji Islands. 5 star SPG properties, and they have a “Stay in One, and Play in Three” feature where you can access to facilities of all three properties! Love that and Fiji! Bula!

  • Andrew Kostin

I like all of the W properties, the one in times square has really nice views.

  • terri
