I was supposed to go to Las Vegas at the end of the month so I as I wrote about last week, I was looking into what events were available through SPG Moments since they often offer exclusive access to otherwise sold-out or hard-to-buy tickets as well as extra add-ons beyond the price of a ticket alone.

I was planning on attending the Shania concert in Vegas.

I was planning on attending the Shania concert in Vegas.

One of the experiences I was interested in was the Shania Twain concert at Caesar’s Palace – part of SPG’s new partnership with Caesar’s – and since I was going to be in Vegas, I decided to purchase it for 10,000 Starpoints. Now, normally I use my Starpoints for hotel redemptions and Cash & Points awards where I’m sure to get a decent value per point, but looking into the ticket prices on Ticketmaster, each seat would have cost $250, so getting $500 in value from 10,000 Starpoints was a decent deal in my book.

Now the bad news – it turns out I’m not going to Vegas! But that’s good news for all of you because I’ll be giving away my SPG Moments package for this week’s reader giveaway. The prize is a pair of tickets in premium seats at Shania Twain: Still the One at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace on Saturday, February 1 at 7:30pm.

To enter, leave a comment on this post by 5:00pm ET tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29, telling me your favorite Shania Twain song and why and Team TPG and I will pick a winner by the end of the day so you have time to make arrangements in Vegas.

This is probably a good prize for someone based in the area, but remember, now that Starwood has its partnership with Caesars, Hyatt has one with MGM Resorts, and you can earn/redeem Marriott points at the Cosmopolitan, there are more opportunities than ever to earn and burn points in Sin City – so you should have some good options whether you want to earn points on a stay or redeem them for award nights.

I can’t wait to see your entries – and good luck, y’all!

Favorite Shania song is You’re Still The One. Reminds me of my first and only Shania concert back in New Mexico when I was 14 years old. Went with my family and it was amazing. Would love to see her in Vegas, and have an excuse to use some of my SPG points.

“Man. I Feel Like a Woman’ is my favorite Shania song. Usually I blast it while I am cooking dinner – for the hubby and kids – or doing laundry. It reminds that despite the chores there are a lot of fun things that come with being a woman. And if I could get the chance to see her in Vegas I would be singing loudly: “The girls need a break – tonight we are going to take the chance to get out on the town! Man, I feel like a woman!”

“Whose Bed Have You’re Boots Been Under” – I remember going with my mom to get this CD at blockbuster music and insisting on dancing around the house to this song…to the point where my mom bought me a SONY Walkman and the tape so she wouldn’t have to listen to it anymore. I also insisted on wearing my sister’s rhinestone cowboy hat…whether or not I knew it….this song might’ve outed me. :) My favorite deep cut is her cover of Amneris’ Letter from the Aida musical covers album…. IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL! Gets me everytime!

  • Jonathan

My favorite is “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” It’s so sassy…and mentions Brad Pitt.

  • Chris

My favorite is “From This Moment On” – This was one of the first songs my wife ever played for me while we were still dating, and it still makes me think about how wonderful my wife is every time I hear it.

  • Curt

    From this moment

  • James

My favorite is “From this Moment On” because it was a song that was on the radio during my first date ever. You never forget that moment and the song will always have a special place in my heart.

“From this moment” will be our first dance on Oct 11th this year. Love this song and always will. I get goosebumps every time i listen to this song.

  • GetToThePoints

Any Man of Mine, because it is one of her best songs, is quite catchy and will win this contest.

  • SRaouf

Forever and For Always. The first Shania Twain song I listened to and I’ve been hooked ever since.

  • Sally

I’m Gonna Getcha Good! is my favorite, always a great way to start the day with an upbeat tune!

  • J.T.

Mine is You’re Still The One. Never thought country music could be like this and she has since then one of my favourite singers. And I happen to be visiting Vegas this weekend! Would love to have a chance to see her live!

  • David in Gotham

I would use these for my new wife’s uncle. He is Canadian and his favorite signer is Shania Twain. We were married in September and he danced hilariously (and drunkenly) to “I Feel Like a Woman.” He was diagnosed with rapidly advancing cancer three weeks ago and I’d love to send him. I’ll get the airfare but these would be great.

I like “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” I’m not a woman, but love the spirit of the song. I bet the crowd goes wild when she starts singing it!

  • Sam

My favorite Shania Twain song is probably “I’m Gonna Getcha Good”. It’s a bit older, so she might not perform it live, but I’d love to see her in LV, no matter what she’s singing!

  • Eric Michaels

Forever & for always by Shania is mine and my wife’s song. It would be a great early valentines day gift to be able to surprise her with these tickets. Got plenty of united miles to get us there and back.

  • Carlos P.

Favorite song by far would have to be the song that my girlfriend dedicated to me the year we first met. ‘From This Moment On’. Such a powerful song, with deep lyrics. She would play this song on special occasions and I knew that this particular song meant a lot to her and its meaning. I couldn’t agree more. Its the kind of feeling that when you’re with your significant other, you feel like you can do no wrong. We live in Vegas so winning this giveaway would be a lovely way to spend an early valentine’s day date at Caesars Palace. Keeping our fingers crossed with the hopes of winning. Thank you.

“From this Moment” – This is one of the song’s my wife and I danced to on our wedding day. The other was a Garth Brooks song. We have been married five years and part of our marriage is I get to kiss Shania if I ever get a chance, and she gets to kiss Garth if she ever gets a chance!

“Man, I Feel Like A Woman” because sometimes I think I do! :-)

  • jasonb

“Rock this Country” for the double entendre and the upbeat tone

  • razzle

    Ka_Ching… Just felt appropriate ;)

  • Rod Smith

“Forever And For Always “because I get to “wake in the morning to ‘my wife’s’ sweet face”. Eternal love … what could be better?

  • David Hurd

My favorite song is ‘You’re Still the One’. I first heard this song on a BA flight from LHR-SFO on the in-seat entertainment more than ten years ago. The first time it played, I remember, I wasn’t a fan. Though as anyone who who listens to those in flight music channels know, they loop the songs over and over again. By the end of the flight, after I had probably listened to the loop ten times, I was singling along and rushed home to download it on Napster.

By far, shania twain, from this moment. My wife had used this song for a slide show she had made for our wedding and this weekend we are off to Vegas to celebrate our 6th anniversary together! We read this blog daily, and thanks to all your hard work and info we maximized our trip for minimal cost.

Flights: We scored two free round trip flights courtesy of the $200 Amex Platinum airline credit per year which we used to buy gift cards in 2013 and again in 2014 (not to mention the two free business class tickets to asia we booked after my wife and I both signed up with the 100k sign on bonus you found in Jan!!)

Hotel: We booked two nights at the Bellagio (one night on my card, one night on my wife’s to maximize the $100 per stay credit) via the Amex Fine hotels and resorts for $160 a night after tax. The Amex travel portal doesn’t show availability for standard rooms but when I called the agent told me rates were $140 plus tax. Whats great about staying at the Bellagio via the Fine Hotels and resorts program, vs other properties available in vegas is you get breakfast daily for two and a $100 credit towards spa services however, at the Bellagio, you get $30 per person to use towards breakfast PLUS $100 towards food and beverage
at most Bellagio Restaurants! So $160 in resort credit so our stay is basically free!

The points guy blog has truly been a game changer!!

Thanks for all the info, keep it up!

“That Don’t Impress Me Much” is an all time fav! Reminds me of high school in the summer driving with my windows down and Shania blasting from the stereo with all my girl friends thinking we were so cool. :)

“When You Kiss Me.” My wife and I listened to it when she was overcoming a significant illness. It got us through it and the song always brings a smile to her face.

My favorite is “You’re Still The One”. Whenever I think of that special person in my life, this is the song that comes to my mind. :)

My favorite is “You’re Still The One”. Whenever I think of that special person in my life, this is the song that comes to my mind. :)

PS: I will be in Las Vegas this weekend :). So, winning this would make the trip even more memorable.

Definitely “From this Moment On” – it was my and my ex boyfriends “song”, and it reminds me of happier times.

  • Rich

Up ! Not a big hit But a great song
Went to see Shania InConcert many years ago, As my friend was on her crew, did not expect to like it !! Turned out to be one of the best shows I’ve ever seen !!!

  • Buddy Holliday

“From This Moment On” is the best song and sung by a great artist. I am hoping to be selected as a winner for this exciting opportunity…..from this minute on!

  • djvdenverguy

‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ I was known as someone who disliked country music. When i met my [now] wife, she was playing Shania’s ‘Come On Over’ CD. ‘That Don’t…’ was the first song I heard, and I asked, “WHO is that?!” I thought it was sassy…like my wife. I’ve been attached to them both ever since.

“You’re Still The One” for sure. It was playing on the radio when my family and I were driving to our hotel during vacation in Lanai, HI, circa 90′s. Still brings back warm and fuzzies.

  • Alex

“Man! I Feel Like A Woman” is by far her best. Great karaoke song.

  • usanancy

“Man, I feel like a Woman” (if I have to pick just one.)
It’s an awesome, fun song. I particularly like it because I have fond memories of singing it (rather loudly) with a female co-worker engineer as we were driving back to Detroit from a rough and dirty and mostly masculine assembly plant in Canada. We needed a little “woman” about then!

  • Pam Santatikul

“You’re Still the one” is my favorite of her songs. She was a great role model when I was in HS and this one inspired me.
