After a great flight from JFK to Dublin aboard business class in Aer Lingus (review to come), I touched down in the Emerald Isle this morning and have been enjoying a beautiful summer day in the Irish capital.

If you win, you can fly Aer Lingus to Ireland too.

Because I enjoyed my flight – which I was able to book in business class one-way for just 40,000 British Airways Avios and $30 in taxes and fees – for today’s Thursday Giveaway, I am going to give one lucky TPG Instagram follower enough 20,000 British Airways Avios deposited into your account.

That’s enough for a one-way economy award ticket on Aer Lingus from New York JFK, or almost enough for a roundtrip award ticket in economy from Boston to Dublin (which requires only 25,000 Avios!) thanks to BA’s distance-based awards in case you want to come kiss the Blarney Stone yourself.

How to Enter

All this weekend, I’ll be snapping photos of my travels in Ireland and sharing on Instagram, my preferred photo sharing app. In order to win this prize, you need to follow me on Instagram (you can download through the Apple or Android stores) and keep a lookout for the photos I take with my “lucky charm” (to make it easier for you, I’ll hashtag eligible pictures with #tpgluckycharm). For every photo with my lucky charm that you “like,” you’ll be entered for a chance to win. The contest will go until 5pm ET Sunday, and then we’ll announce the winner on Monday.

I know not everyone has joined Instagram, but it’s a great social media channel with the ability to share beautiful pictures not only on your Instagram feed, but also on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr and Foursquare so you can make all your friends jealous of your travels. Not only that, but more and more airline, hotel and credit card promotions are being staged on Instagram, so those not on it can miss out on some good opportunities.

I’m not going to preach the virtues of Instagram, but I personally love it because it gives me so much travel inspiration seeing great photos from around the world. If you don’t have a phone that can install this free app, don’t worry – we’ll be holding more giveaways every Thursday here on the site so you can enter in the future.

If you don’t win, remember that the British Airways Visa Signature Card from Chase is currently being offered with a sign-up bonus of 50,000 Avios when you spend $3,000 in 3 months and a $95 annual fee, so you can rake in enough Avios to fly Aer Lingus roundtrip business class from the sign-up bonus alone.

In the meantime, may the luck of the Irish be with you, and top o’ the mornin’ to ya!
