Last Thursday I decided to start a new weekly blog feature called Thursday Giveaways where we will be holding fun little contests and award our loyal readers with prizes. For the first contest I asked readers to comment on The Points Guy’s Facebook wall with your favorite golf related story using the hashtag #TPGgiveaway.
This contest was involved golf since I was able to attend MasterCard’s Legends Academy golf outing in Ridgewood NJ and came home with some pretty cool golf swag. As a reminder, the giveaway package includes:
– White BarclayCard sport towel signed by Nick Faldo
– Navy blue BarclayCard sport towel
– Black and blue drawstring bag with the BarclayCard logo on the front
– Black embroidered BarclayCard baseball hat
– BarclayCard fountain pen with felt case
– 2 packs of Titleist Pro V1 golf balls
– Large umbrella
– 2 leather encased travel coffee mugs with MasterCard logo imprinted on the side
–1 One Day ticket good for any day from Wednesday August 21st – Sunday August 25th to the Barclays 2013 tournament where you’ll have access to MasterCard Club Hole 2 and Grounds Access
Congratulations to TPG reader Joey Pore was selected as the winner after his submission about his first time golfing in California with his dad:
“When I was about 12 years old, my parents and I flew to California (can’t remember which airport, probably LAX) in AA Business class on a DC10. My dad sat next to Lee Travino, and they talked about golf just about the whole flight. When we got to CA, I played golf for the first time in the mountains with my dad, and we’ve been fans of the game ever since. #TPGgiveaway”
Check back this Thursday to see what the next giveaway contest and prize will be- just a hint- it has something to do with free hotel nights! Even after the introduction of the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Chase Sapphire Preferred is still a fantastic choice if you want to avoid the Reserve’s $450 annual fee, earn 2x on all travel & dining and earn a 50,000 point sign up bonus.
