If you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter my Club Carlson Golden Giveaway for the chance to win one of two $500 Visa gift cards and Club Carlson Gold status. The contest closes at 11:59pm ET tonight and I’ll be announcing winners on Friday.

    The base earn rate is incredible!! I can’t believe everyone isn’t talking about how valueable Club Carlson Gold points can be!–and 5 pts base??? I have yet to get a value of less than 0.9 cents/pt on anything I’ve booked or even speculatively booked, and I have found many 1.4 cent/pt redemptions (after the 1 free night of course).

    It is the perfect rewards travel card for those of us that like to take short weekend or road trip vacations; where 2 nights is all you need before wanting to see the next memorable stop; or, for those of us that feel more comfortable in a Country Inn & Suites than Waldorf. Do I sound like a fan-boy yet?…this card/program is itching for a devaluation…but I’m certainly counting myself as lucky and loyal to ride it on the way down.

    Stacking the 10x points earning on top of all of the additional promotions, base earnings, online bonus, and gold earnings bonus. Easiest way to top-tier hotels out of all programs.

    I like that the card has good long term attraction given that it offers 2 elite property nights each year that you spend $2,000 (40,000 bonus points plus 2,000*5 points per dollar spent)= 50,000 which is enough for such redemption.

    I love that I will be able to use the 85,000 points to book 2 nights at the Radisson Blu Saga for 38,000 points and another 2 nights at the same hotel for a total of 76,000 points! This will cover our 4 nights in Reykjavik, Iceland!!!! Thanks Thepointsguy and Club Carlson!

    I just received my Club Carlson Card (85k) today: Woo hoo! There are so many great features of this program, but the annual 40k points is a real bonus. I have longstanding loyalty to Marriott, but am now looking forward to becoming better acquainted with C Carlson.

    The 40,000 bonus points annually is my favorite benefit! I can get 4 weekend getaways at a 9,000 pt hotel when coupled with the free bonus nights!

    I like that it gives you, and lets you keep, Carlson Gold. This gives you, among other things, 2000 points for online bookings. I find one of the best use of points (outside of super expensive European properties, which I haven’t been able to take advantage of – yet) is to redeem a points and cash award. When you do this, you still earn points (and right now they’re running a triple points promotion), as well as the 2000 bonus points for online bookings for Gold members. So, for a recent two-night stay in Charleston, I paid 5000 points per night for about a $50 discount on the room – but with all the points I earned (bonus 2000, bonus triple points) on what I did spend, I actually EARNED a total of about 1500 points for my award stay!

    I just applied for the card mainly for the extra night and the big points bonus. I’ve been a loyal Hilton and Marriott member (Diamond and Platinum), but they’re making it more and more difficult to justify spending my money with them when they keep devaluing their rewards. Glad there is choice in the hotel business, because Club Carlson is gonna get a lot of business from me from here on out.

    My favorite is an extra 10 points per $1 spend at Club Carlson hotel. 20 standard points + 10 points for gold status + 10 points for credit card spend = 40 points per dollar at Club Carlson!!!

    The Gold status is a real winner. My last two stays at Country Inn & Suites hav been very low (approx. $ 58/night) AARP discount rates, but I have been upgraded to very confortable suites. Similar accomodations at other chains would easily cost $ 50 more per night.

    Wow. Only 20 people entered. Those are great odds. Wish I would have entered earlier. However the C3 (CLUB CARLSON CREDIT) card is awesome you really can rack up the points with this program. I just got 44,000 points for a 3 night stay in Moscow. It was part of the TRIPLE POINTS program. I only need 6,000 more points for one of my favorite benefits – AIRLINE MILES. 50K CC Points become 8K United points!

    Clearly the Bonus Award Nights! On a trip to London, I’ll be booking 3 separate 2 day stays and this perk will stretch 150k points to cover all of it.

    Love the Bonus Night Reward. Presently have two separate two day reservation in both London and Madrid this summer. Great use of 200k! And then getting 85K and annual bonus, always a plus.
