Hilton has launched a 5th Night Free Escapes promo, where those who book a stay of at least five consecutive nights get their fifth night free at any resort in the Americas. You must book before April 30, 2013, to qualify, for stays between March 15-September 30, 2013. The list of participating properties includes 62 throughout the United States and Canada, 14 in the Caribbean and six in Latin America.

Get a fifth night free at the El Conquistador, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, with rates starting at $189 per night.
As part of this promotion, a 5-night stay at the all-inclusive Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa would normally start at $389 per night from April 20-25, for a total of $1,945. An HHonors member booking this same stay via this promotion would spend $1,556, a savings of $389.
Similarly, rates at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista start at $129 per night, for a 5 night total of approximately $835 (inclusive of 12.5% tax and $22 resort charge). For an April 15-20 visit as part of this promotion, you’d pay a total of $659 – a savings of $176 or 21%.
It should be noted that when booking a five-night stay through the promotion page, it doesn’t clearly tell you that the 5th night is free, but instead tells you that the 5th night is already reflected in the rate shown. In other words, it seems to take what the total would have been, lops off 20%, and then evenly distributes it across the 5 nights rather than just discounting the fifth night. That way you get one free night at the average rate across your stay.
While I’m not raring to book many Hilton stays thanks to the HHonors program’s massive upcoming devaluation, for those of you looking to book some spring and summer trips at resorts in North America, this could be a good way to get a discount of up to 20% on stays of five nights or longer.
