Delta just launched a new promotion to earn bonus miles when flying BusinessElite or in full-fare economy to London Heathrow. To be eligible, you must first register then book by January 15, 2013 and fly now through January 31, 2013. There is no limit to the number of bonus miles that Skymiles members may earn with this promotion. To earn the bonuses, you must fly on Delta marketed/operated or KLM marketed/Delta operated flights to London Heathrow.
On the first roundtrip, you earn 15,000 miles; the second earns you 35,000 miles, and starting with the third roundtrip, you will earn 50,000 bonus miles each time, so if you have a lot of business in London, and have to fly back and forth in full-fare economy or business, this promotion could really help you rack up the miles. This is a public offer, so anyone may register for it.
Once you register, here is the breakdown on how many bonus miles you can earn:
|1st Round Trip||15,000 Bonus Miles|
|2nd Round Trip||35,000 Bonus Miles|
|3rd Round Trip||50,000 Bonus Miles|
|Additional Round Trips||50,000 Bonus Miles|
This is valid for BusinessElite fares (J/C/D/S/I fare classes) and full fare coach (Y/B/M fares). There are still come cheap business class fares over Thanksgiving from around $1800 so those would qualify for this offer. Only new bookings qualify for this offer.
For those of you wondering, this seems like a response to the 100,000+ American Miles For Premium Fares To Europe (and the British Airways version) as the bonus miles earning structure is identical. The American deal is actually better, though, because it includes British Airways and Iberia flights, and you can fly anywhere in Europe, not just to London Heathrow, plus some British Airways premium economy fares which can be more affordable. Still, if you’re a Delta flyer and are looking to bank some extra miles, this could be a good way to go.
