In addition to Starwood Preferred Guest’s Fall “Better By The Night” promo, SPG is also offering members an additional 250 bonus Starpoints when they check in on foursquare during eligible stays at any hotel or resort now through December 20, 2012.

First, link your SPG account to your Foursquare account. Then, when you check in to a Starwood hotel on Foursquare during an eligible stay, you’ll earn 250 bonus points.

According to the terms and conditions, you must register for “Better by the Night” by November 30, and stay before December 20. For the Foursquare portion of the promotion, you must check in on Foursquare during an eligible confirmed reservation during the promotion period and have already linked your SPG account to your foursquare account. Only one Foursquare check-in per member per eligible stay will be awarded the 250 bonus points, and they’ll take 2-3 weeks to register after the qualifying stay posts. Check-in bonuses are eligible at all properties that participate in SPG regardless of whether they are participating in “Better by the Night.”

An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an eligible rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account. Eligible stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive a bonus. For the Foursquare offer award and Cash & Points stays, are eligible. Remember, certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com) are not Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify toward promotional earnings, so pay attention to how you make your reservations and to be safe, do it through Starwood.

Just as a reminder, here are the details of the “Better by the Night” promotion:

-Earn double Starpoints on stays of 1 or 2 nights.
– Earn triple Starpoints on stays of 3 nights or more.
– Plus, earn 250 additional bonus Starpoints for stays booked at spg.com, or 500 additional bonus Starpoints for stays booked through the SPG mobile app for iPhone.

The double and triple bonuses will be based on stays from October 1 through December 20, 2012. Here is a list of non-participating properties. The booking bonuses are eligible for all Starwood hotels and resorts that participate in the SPG program, regardless of whether or not the hotel is participating in this promotion.

As always, it pays to pay attention to the various social media promotions airlines and hotels hold since they can be a great way to rack up extra points. 250 Starpoints is the equivalent of spending $125 at Starwood if you’re a regular SPG member, or $250 on everyday non-SPG purchases with the SPG Amex, so start checking in!
