In addition to Starwood Preferred Guest’s Fall “Better By The Night” promo, SPG is also offering members an additional 250 bonus Starpoints when they check in on foursquare during eligible stays at any hotel or resort now through December 20, 2012.

First, link your SPG account to your Foursquare account. Then, when you check in to a Starwood hotel on Foursquare during an eligible stay, you’ll earn 250 bonus points.

According to the terms and conditions, you must register for “Better by the Night” by November 30, and stay before December 20. For the Foursquare portion of the promotion, you must check in on Foursquare during an eligible confirmed reservation during the promotion period and have already linked your SPG account to your foursquare account. Only one Foursquare check-in per member per eligible stay will be awarded the 250 bonus points, and they’ll take 2-3 weeks to register after the qualifying stay posts. Check-in bonuses are eligible at all properties that participate in SPG regardless of whether they are participating in “Better by the Night.”

An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an eligible rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account. Eligible stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive a bonus. For the Foursquare offer award and Cash & Points stays, are eligible. Remember, certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com) are not Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify toward promotional earnings, so pay attention to how you make your reservations and to be safe, do it through Starwood.

Just as a reminder, here are the details of the “Better by the Night” promotion:

-Earn double Starpoints on stays of 1 or 2 nights.
- Earn triple Starpoints on stays of 3 nights or more.
- Plus, earn 250 additional bonus Starpoints for stays booked at spg.com, or 500 additional bonus Starpoints for stays booked through the SPG mobile app for iPhone.

The double and triple bonuses will be based on stays from October 1 through December 20, 2012. Here is a list of non-participating properties. The booking bonuses are eligible for all Starwood hotels and resorts that participate in the SPG program, regardless of whether or not the hotel is participating in this promotion.

As always, it pays to pay attention to the various social media promotions airlines and hotels hold since they can be a great way to rack up extra points. 250 Starpoints is the equivalent of spending $125 at Starwood if you’re a regular SPG member, or $250 on everyday non-SPG purchases with the SPG Amex, so start checking in!

Hi TPG. I just read the t&c’s for this four square promo. At the bottom in a separate section it says award stays & C&P stays ARE eligible!

Thanks for the heads up – it’s interesting, while the T&C said only paid stays were eligible, the general SPG Foursquare FAQ says Awards and Cash & Points are eligible:
“For SPG Facebook and/or foursquare specials with a confirmed reservation, if part of my stay has an Award Night or a night using Cash & Points, does my stay qualify?
Yes, Award Night and Cash & Points reservations are eligible for SPG Facebook and/or foursquare check-in specials. Please ensure the reservation number for your stay is under the same SPG number you have associated with your Facebook and/or foursquare account.”

I made my first trip to china in 1978 — what you describe is a great improvement from my trips,I have been in china about 75 times –last time was in 2000 ,– you have no idea how bad it was over the years —

if u wanted to fly from canton to shanghai to peking — u could not make the the 3 city reservation — when u arrived in canton u then made your resv to shanghai etc — and only had old soviet aircraft

hotels– once had at $1000 a night suite in shanghai ( 6 rooms , it was the only room in the hotel that was available– asked my Chinese partner to go pay the bill while i finished packing — he came back andtold me that want to charge $500 for late check out ( he went down on time to pay– but– the line at check out was very long —by the time he was served it was 10 after — after a great deal of B S they agreed –no charge

I can go on and on ,but think this is enuf

i wonder if foursquare check-ins are available overseas.

also i already did 2 iphone bookings and 2 foursquare check-ins. None of the bonus points (should be a total of 1500) have been posted yet.
