Update: Deal is dead
Delta loaded some unbelievably low fares between Pittsburgh and San Francisco and Los Angeles from $137 total roundtrip! You can route through JFK and Atlanta to maximize your miles and originate on the west coast or in Pittsburgh. I priced out a Pittsburgh-JFK-San Francisco-Atlanta- Pittsburgh for $139 total- an amazing deal since you earn 5,751 MQMs, so 2.4 cents a mile!
Los Angeles-JFK-Pittsburgh-Atlanta-Los Angeles for $139.20 total.
Availability is wide open for weekends this fall- I checked and saw it available for every weekend in September and October (and probably more, but I’m about to board a flight and want to get this post out!). Please feel free to report any other routes/ dates you were able to book this.
Delta allows you to cancel a flight free of charge up until midnight of the day after you book, so if you want to get in, I suggest booking now before it’s too late!
Delta.com allows you to do flexible weekend searches, which is how I found these fares. Delta.com -> Planning tools -> Book a flight -> Then check the “My dates are flexible box” and pull in weekend searches or +3 days earlier/after option.
I went to college in Pittsburgh and its a great city for a weekend trip- I may just have to do a Pittsburgh roundup when I have time. Let me know if you get in on these fares!
