I came across another interesting little summer hotel promo today when I found this offer from Hilton HHonors to earn a bonus 2,000 points for staying at a Home2 Suites for the first time between now and August 15.
You can either sign in with your HHonors account and register through the promo page, or if you’re not a Hilton HHonors member yet, you can create an account on the promo page itself and register as part of the process. I also guess it means that if you’ve already stayed at a Home2 Suites, you’re out of luck, but I’d still register anyway.

According to the rest of the terms and conditions: Offer valid for first time stays completed between May 15 and August 15, 2012 (“Promotion Period”) at any participating Home2Suites Hotel. HHonors™ members must first register at prior to check-out of your stay within the Promotion Period. Must have a valid HHonors number. Offer valid only once per HHonors member. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of the promotion for Bonus Points to appear in your HHonors account. Offer is not applicable to Home2 Suites Fayetteville, NC, and Home2 Suites Jacksonville, NC. Offer is not transferable, is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

Home2 Suites is Hilton’s newest brand (the first one opened just a year ago), and Hilton has been promoting it heavily, most recently with a promotion to win a free vacation for two earlier in May. There are only 12 locations so far (and as you see, this offer isn’t valid at 2 of them) mostly across the southeastern US, but there are plans for 70 of them in the future, so we’ll likely be hearing a lot more about them soon enough. They are your typical extended-stay kind of places, though they all look nice and new and have amenities like free WiFi, full kitchens and are pet-friendly.

2,000 points isn’t much – especially when it comes to Hilton HHonors – but if your plans are taking you somewhere there’s a Home2 Suites, you might as well register and score the bonus. Plus, if you do, I want to hear about it since I haven’t experienced the brand for myself yet.

Isn’t points earning crippled at home2? Seems like a weird mixed-message way to promote them.

Brian – I am actually heading to Lexington in 2 weeks, so am now planning to take advantage of this promo and will report back to all TPG readers. However, I’m curious about a few of the H2S terms, and can’t seem to find more info. I’m specifically wondering if I can make the res through Carlson Wagonlit to begin my 4 stays towards Gold, and also if this H2S stay will quality for Hilton’s Q2 bonus. If so, this is an absolute no brainer.
