I wrote about choosing the right Delta card a couple weeks ago and basically, if you want valuable benefits like free checked bags and priority boarding without a huge annual fee, the Gold and Business Gold cards make a lot of sense – especially since the $95 fee is waived the first year unlike the other two. I just got an email as a SkyBonus member for one of the best offers I’ve seen for the Business Gold – up to 55,000 miles with $10,000 in spend.

    Not bad but high on the spend! Mine was:

    “Earn 45,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 on the Card within three months. It’s that simple.”

    I always wonder would cash advance be counted towards spending.

    I have cash to pay for a new car, I’m thinking of doing a card applying spree, and basically swipe each card on the spending limit, and pay it.

    But I heard payment for cars are recorded as cash advances.

    Please clarify TPG

    Don’t know why the offer link for personal card 45K offer doesn’t work now, but the 45k biz and 55K biz still alive.

    noob question – if i already have a personal skymiles card can i apply for the biz card and still be eligible for the 55k mileage incentive

    I started a small business this year but am getting declined for business credit cards on the grounds that the business is “too new to evaluate.” The business entity has its own EIN and I assume they go by the credit record of the business (of which there is none yet) even though my personal FICO score is 800-ish? If anyone has tips for getting approval I’d be appreciative!

    Hi – Wondering if anyone has any info re: the following 4 Q’s …

    1 – Apparently, the language in the current Amex Delta 45,000 offer does NOT actually contain the usual language re: “1st-time only” … Has anyone who ALREADY has a delta skymiles card applied using one of the current links and been able to to get the bonus? (I realize it might be too soon to know for sure, but wanted to ask …)

    2 – Is there a limit to how many Amex cards a person can have? An amex rep. recently (within the past month or 2) told me that Amex recently instituted a max of 2 Amex cards TOTAL… but that sounded suspicious to me. (I already have 3, so I told her that didn’t sound right; she said it’s a new rule and that if I already have 3, Amex wouldn’t force me to forfeit one, but wouldn’t approve another one… btw – this was NOT a call re: an application; I was calling to ask about receiving promo announcements, etc., and our discussion veered to this topic…)

    3 – If there is a restriction re: getting a delta skymiles bonus only 1 time, would I still be able to get a separate additional delta skymiles bonus a second time by applying for a business card (with my SSN as the ESN), or would the system cross-reference my SSN and/or delta skymiles #?

    4 – Similar Q re: max. # of Amex cards … If there is such a “maximum,” and if I am already at the max., would I still be able to get an additional Amex card, if I the new card is a business card (using same SSN …)???

    fyi – The current offer DOES contain other interesting/concerning language …
    “If your application is approved after this date, you will NOT be eligible for the 45,000 bonus miles offer.”

    Think I could get approved for the 55,000 Delta card AND the one-day 75,000 Membership Rewards card if I do both applications at the same time (i.e., tonight)??? Thanks!
